Ability to move without attacking

I saw this asked at least twice before but has not had any responses. I think it would be very useful to have a toggle in player movement in options to be able to right click to move without attacking.

I use attack move click on a mouse button to attack (will probably switch to Left click to attack move soon but just found out about this) and right click to move. Any time I use right click I use it for movement and have no intention of attacking.

Some examples of right click attack causing problems:

  1. If you misclick within auto attack range you end up attacking instead of moving which can easy get you killed.
  2. Some characters like Draven have specific problems: He needs to catch axes which can be difficult to do if the axe is going to land on top of / very close to an enemy minion.
  3. Trying to move to the other side of an enemy tower
  4. Not a big deal but right clicking to walk to lane, having clicked a minion accidentally, it will die and your movement command will be canceled. (just annoying)

I feel like it would be a fairly easy change to make, what do you think?

You can't really live with attack-move alone without using right-click also as a means to target, because attack-move does not discriminate between targets since all it does is "move to this location, attack the first enemy encountered if encountered", which means you still need right-clicking to last hit and pick out targets in a middle of a crowd. Attack-move is usually only useful for kiting as a ranged auto-attack champion, when you need to switch between moving and flipping back to attack the chaser quickly.

Just practice and be more agile and precise with your right-click; and form a habit of clicking multiple times which most of us (especially those with some RTS background) do end up doing to avoid command voiding like say clicking on minions and they die.

This post is extremely underrated:

Honestly, as a Game Designer.. first of all: giving an option to the player, can almost never be a bad thing, but since this is not enough of a thing in order to add a new feature, I'll tell you what I think.

Have you ever played a game where you move with the WASD keys? Or with the gamepad maybe... something where you have a specific button to use when you wanna move. I guess you probably have, at least once. Now tell me... have you ever played one where when you move towards an enemy, while using your moving keys, you accidentally attack him? Cause I haven't... Never. And you know why? Cause attacking and moving are two different actions that SHOULD NOT be binded on the same key.

Now, League has existed for a lot of time now, and this has always been the way it worked, honestly, when it came out, it was probably the best way to go, now tho, with the whole game getting so fast and precise, having your champ getting out of a stealth because someone put a ward under your mouse, or a minon changes path for whatever reason, getting under your mouse, or simply a Draven trying to catch his Axe while a huge Cho Gath stands in his mouse way...

Honestly this is not how you let your player express their way to play. It's not like i wanted to attack there, or I am just bad. Because the fact that you have to play around a system limitation, does not make the gameplay more skillful, it makes it more complicated, for the wrong reason.

Honestly. At the moment, we have the option to use a button in order to attack, and as long as you click the right target, it will attack the right one, furthermore, if you barely misclick for the situation, most of the times, it helps you out, and since this has existed, more and more people found out the OBJECTIVE advantages of this feature.

Why shouldn't we have a choice, if we just wanna move?
