Most smurfs are people who are perma-banned and need to make new accounts. Which they will then probably get banned off before they hit 30 exde.

I don't get people who smurf for the sake of smurfing, I don't get how you feel good beating lesser skilled opponents (or new ones).

Most people in high Elo are still practicing their mains or playing their main positions in norms, it’s actually really hard to learn a new position or champion going up against people who are good at the game while you don’t know what you’re doing in this new role or champ.

Yea, you can do norms, but it’s very painful for the first few games.

OK let me clarify this for you all. Diamond+ players must be good overall at all roles not the greatest. A diamond facing off against a silver/bronze yea that diamond player will give them the win. As RedMercy said before you can't be great on all champions..

As I'm older than most streamers like redmercy etc, we have certain champions we just can't play anymore. Evelynn rework is exceptional so yea i do enjoy facing off against my counters in matches Warwick .

As I figures the champion i can't play anymore, because he's easily stopped, by cc is MasterYi

You have no idea how many diamond one tricks there are, do you? My friend plays exclusively top, for instance. And only 3 champions. He can mid somewhat competently, but put him anywhere else and he simply can’t play the role. And if he has to he’ll do something like Illaoi support or Swain bot (which atm is actually good) because that’s all he knows how do to.

Diamond+ players absolutely do not all know how to play at least all the positions a little. I’d honestly wager most play at most 3 positions and only have a handful of champions they’re good at. That specialization strategy is, after all, the best way to climb to that level.

As someone who's been to Diamond , you are wrong. I've had people on my team get autofilled support, pick Janna and proceed to die 15 times in a row for the sweet ripe score of 2/19/11.

But yes, people in this elo should be able to do all roles moderately well.

Norms is stupid. It doesn’t teach you anything. You won’t learn anything when you have a silver 5 vs Gold 3 jungler.

Especially for higher elos. A Diamond 2 player can easily play every role and champion in the game better than most gold/Plat players. He won’t learn shit by playing against silvers in normals.

The problem with the common sense part is that there's a large group of people who treat norms like their ranked and flame you hard for trying something new. I played Xayah bot after getting autofilled, Xayah being someone I've never played, and had to listen to my support rant about how, just because it's a norms, that it's still competitive and I should feel bad about not try harding. His wording was less civil, but same thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm against smurfing as well, but some people just ask for it to happen to them.

Most of the time they are trolling kids. I do report them for boosting, than they get the MMR twisted back up to where they are it. High elo Smurfs are just wasting their time in game while they could be experiencing college or university stuff. tho most kids hate school so since they can't approve elsewhere in the game or realize what they are weak in, they enjoy stomping the youngsters.. Funny thing is the High Elo smurfs are only 2-3years older than the youngsters they are stomping on. Well I got 5-6 on years on these High Elo smurfs and add 10+ years onto youngsters ouch.

Usually it's because they can't rank up in their elo so they just play with low elo people on new account. Typical smurfers are in range of Diamond 5- plat 3.

Honestly? Because it feels better to play an easier game. Since you're better than your opponents, you do less mistakes compared to them, it feels like even if you screw up a bit as long as you focus, every game is winnable. Also you get praised, people don't flame you cause you have good scores. Overall, yeah it sure feels bad for the enemy team, but it feels nice to smurf, you have so much less pressure on your shoulders.

I probably wouldn't smurf if the atmosphere and the community weren't so tense/aggressive. Feels like smurfing is the only way I can have a bit of fun.

there are also people like me who plays a small number of champions but are masters of them. i have been called a smurf and even a scripter.

i may only be RANKED "silver" since i stopped playing ranked. (too tilting, i just dont find it fun)

but according to riots new stats system, (especially on my main) Nidalee

i certainly don't play her at silver level

and what makes is even more amazing is nidalee with no form of CC is HEAVILY reliant on her team in fight. (which likely explains why my "combat" rank is so much lower

why am i not surprised that stats just like getting ranked s- s or s+ as a jungler is wonky as fuck LUL. i find ranked also very stressful but i swapped from solo to flex and im having much more relaxed fun there even if some games are clearly very onesided at least no1 ever tilts or throws a hissyfit. then again im 29 now and don´t really care much anymore i just want to unwind and have some fun so i feel you. sidenote: fuck nidalee junglers 9/10 times completely useless that never utilize spears or catform properly. [zombie-brand-clap]

Who came up with the word "Salty" As I play other games back in my younger days like call of duty 4 the term salt wasn't even used. Heck we had mic and stuff and not once did i hear that "salty". I believe Overwatch back on the xbox 1 is when I first heard the slang word "salty much" than League players kept using it 24/7. I don't think adults would come up with that word only children.

I made this smurf because high Elo meta is so boring and awful, it’s the same shit over and over and several times I had simply stopped playing for weeks or months because I was tired of it. Even in the infamous adc aids meta of s7 it wasn’t as bad as s8 imo. My goal is to intentionally reach bronze where I think I may actually be able to have fun again, seeing as anything goes there so maybe I’ll see the other 80% of champions in league and games won’t be over in 25 minutes or less. I’m so close to level 30.

Don’t worry, I’ve mostly been learning new champs I’m bad at or playing idiotic shit like Sona mid (one day riot may make her an actual champion again) to handicap myself.

Half my friends who plays lol have 2 to 3 accounts.

These accounts are used to train new champions in ranked, play with lower ranked friends, play when we are high/drunk. :)

@Riot - Right now you are trying hard to attract new players and I hope you succeed.

But 2 or 3 games of TRUE new players getting camped and destroyed by smurfing players, with a pub stomp champ they likely don't own yet, followed up by mean spirited trash chat, from both teams, and lets throw in the MAYBE of a team that won't surrender as they suffer through an additional 15 mins of this terrible experience...

That is likely MORE then enough to scare away someone who hasn't invested much time in the game yet... I understand that Smurf accounts are something that is VERY hard to monitor and/or police, But If you want true new blood on the rift something NEEDS to be done about this! I understand that verified E-mails will soon be required on all accounts, and that's a good step. Hopefully that will make at least some of these bullies think twice risking their main accounts.

Note: Yes I know it's not that hard to create a throwaway E-mail, but in my life experience? adding an extra step or effort into ANYTHING is enough to keep most people who are just in it for laughs or curiosity from following threw.

Most smurfs you won't even notice because they'll be screwing off and playing champs they don't main so they fit right into the fiesta.

I'm a diamond player that smurfs constantly in silver/gold on champs I don't main for fun and to learn the champs so I can eventually play them in my diamond games.

That was Riot's healthy way of tuning down smurfs account, but again this cocky generation wants to be perfect. I've yet not played 100 games on 1 champion on any other lanes just to justify where I'm good in. MY KD is higher than most diamond players per champions I'm playing and my vision control is way above the diamond players, yet again this "stats page" will become more viable to see where I'm at when i hit 500+ games, about 200 to go.

I don't understand who or what is telling you that you are going to be gold 5, so far you are 2-6 in placements; you are more than likely, at your rate, to be placed mid-high bronze. As well as this in the normal games that you play you are primarily with or against bronze 5- silver 5 players and do not perform stand out in your games. This is indicative of this being around your current skill level.

2-6 doesn't really say much when the majority of my matches I've gotten int feeders on my team. So unfortunately for a win in my 0-20 Quinn ranked game. The 1st match i played i got counter hard so i yea i left why get tilted over something i know i will lose.

You got to a have a decent team with you if your going all in ranked. iDC if they are strangers but if Riot keeps placing kids with 300ping or more on my team, my team will always have the disadvantage. You rarely can win 4v5 much as rare one as Quinn match i wanted to lose.

So yea recently I'm been trying out new shit, so idc if i get carried in normals. Darius summoner 11 not bad [garen-swing]

Based on my own performance. When i try to win my death are less than 4 usually. I know what i need to work on to improve in my own play, but i cannot control other people poor decisions and connections. My vision score 70% more than half plat players.

? I get diamond in around 100 games. If you need 500 games played and are still in like gold you dont belong in Diamond.
