What does this mean?

After a 7 win losing streak(two of which are at 0 lp), I finally won a game and I gained 15 lp. Then I noticed a yellow exclamation mark appeared in my profile. It warns me that though I'm shielded from demotion, I lost too many games to maintain my current rank, and it suggests me to win more games to prevent demotion. I don't really understand what this message was supposed to mean. Is it trying to tell me that if I don't win some ranked games soon I'm gonna get automatically demoted to silver? The preseason is coming soon, I just want to maintain gold before s8 so that I can earn my end of season rewards.

Its an MMR warning, when you're at gold 5 0 LP you won't get demoted to silver 1 unless your MMR drops to mid-high silver level. (by losing)

The warning is telling you "hey, you better start winning because your next loss while at 0 lp might send you to silver".

oh, so if I just stop playing ranked nothing will happen?

Yep.

In plat+ though you'll gradually get demoted after periods of not playing (something like, plat = 30 days, dia+ = 10 days, etc)

But in gold you'll be fine where you are.
