AP Bruiser Item

AD bruisers have two really strong items in the form of Black Cleaver and Sterak's Gage, as well as Titanic Hydra. Could it be possible to give AP bruisers a similar item for example... Wibwob's Wibble +500 Health +50 AP +10% CDR e.g. Grants WIBWOB'S FURY upon taking 400 - 1800 (based on level) damage within 5 seconds (45 second cooldown). UNIQUE – WIBWOB'S FURY: Grants increased size, +10% AP and a rapidly decaying shield based of 30% maximum health for 8 seconds. Thoughts?

Edit: I mean a tanky AP item that gives CDR since there arent any items that give those stats

I've always considered item 3027 item 3116 and item 3151 to be AP bruiser items? Even a item 3157 or item 3001

If what you're asking for is a Sterak's Gage equivalent, then say that. Not AP bruiser item. It's just worded weird for what you actually want. Make the title, "I wish there was an AP equivalent to Sterak's Gage"

This we already have AP brusier items, rito could add item 3170 to SR though if APs really need one.

I think they would nerf Vlad if they made a good AP bruiser item, which would be fair. If his kit is artificially strong because his itemisation is lacking then it makes perfect sense to nerf it in the event that items to suit him are created.

I support the idea of a new CDR item for Mages, but i'd like it to be built from these, so they'll have more than 1 path

item 3191 + item 3136

Some ideas:

item 1058 + item 3191 + item 1033 + Gold

100 AP 15 MR 15 Armor 10% CDR Unique Passive: After dealing spell damage gain 20 Armor and 20 MR for 3 seconds.

item 1026 + item 3028 + Gold

80 AP Unique Active [Toggle-able] : Upon casting a spell, gain 10% (15% ?) cooldown reduction, increase your spells mana cost by 7% and gain 15 ability power for 4 seconds, ability power can be stacked up to 3 (or 4?) times, and mana cost stacks up to 4 times.

( 's passive in "reverted" when the item is combined, making it increase mana costs, making it a transitional item for mid-lategame, unless you choose to combine it early for burst of ap at the cost of sustain)

item 1058 + item 3114 + Gold 100 AP 10% CDR Unique Passive: Whenever you deal spell damage gain mana equal to 2% of the damage dealt.

item 3136 + item 3145 + item 1052 + Gold

100 AP 10% CDR 15 Magic Penetration. Unique Passive: Whenever your health reaches critical levels, gain a shield that absorbs 200 damage for 5 seconds, 45sec cooldown. Unique Passive Lich: After casting a spell, you next damaging spell within 4 seconds heals you over 3 seconds for 30% of the damage it deals, 8 seconds cooldown.

No but there are already cdr options like Morellos and Athenes for mages, i think that AP tanks like Amumu, Gragas and Sejuani need a tanky cdr item.

They can just buy tank items item 3025 item 3110 or they could buy item 3050 item 3060 if they really want tanky/AP/CDR (Jungle Gragas was buying Zeke's at worlds for some teams).

All I'm saying is that they should have a CDR item just for AP bruisers, instead of making them take a full tank or support item

item 3025 Doesnt give AP. And just because there arent many AP tanks doesnt mean they shouldnt have an item that suits them

There are plenty of items that suit them, you're asking for an item just for them.

If you really want to make then make it out of item 3024 + something there is plenty of AP/health items as it, I don't think we need another.

they would never, jax is the quintessential hybrid champ next to like akali, and it works with his lore (he can fight with anything). there's no reason to remove the ap on jax

The issue is that creating items that grant CDR, AP and health will be quickly abused and become the item to build for every magic dealer out there. You cannot have those 3 on one item because unlike their AD counterparts, APs benefit a lot more from CDR. Maybe they could use a new item but it won't be the one you mentioned above.

I don't really see the abuse case. Mages aren't going to build an item that only gives 50 AP just because it comes with a bit of CDR unless it also has huge other advantages and unlike Frost Queen's Claim, the OP's proposed item isn't ridiculously strong. As long as building the bruiser item results in a legitimate drop in DPS versus the squishy options, it's not got any reason to be suspected as an abuse case.

AP tanks would consider using it (which is fair - if Poppy can buy a Sterak's then why are people like Sejuani randomly locked out of a similar option?) and most likely AP bruisers like Vlad and Swain too, but frankly I think champions like that deserve to have itemisation tailored to them rather than piggybacking on proper mage items. Not a chance in hell is a proper ranged AP carry buying a bruiser item unless it's broken.

The only thing that makes me not purchase this item is the bonus base AD. It is completely useless for AP bruisers.

I would buy it on both, the survivability from the item just makes sticking in fights a lot more bearable. I build this on malphite, sej and sometimes nidalee when I go bruiser and in games where there's too much burst, I'll build it as a defensive option on an adc. It's just adapting to the situation.

Because there is a whole lot of AP champions that crave HP that we don't want getting items like this.

We also don't want a lot of items to combine AP and HP because then we get mages who should be squishy acting as tanks.

I don't see ADCs running around with Sterak's + Cleaver - why should mages start piling on AP + HP items?

Actually some people are running Steraks on marksmen in higher elo, and it's like this because Marksmen don't burst, they seek as much damage as possible.

I've always wanted an AP bruiser item for someone like Ryze, Mordekaiser, Zac, etc. I like the idea of an AP Sterak's Gage-ish item. Too bad Morde is dead and Ryze's winrate is pathetic. This item would FANTASTIC on mana less AP bruisers too COUGH Vlad COUGH
