My Ranked Expirence

Hello all, I am a summoner by the name of LavaOasis, I have been playing League of Legends since about last October, I have had ups and downs throughout the game that have impacted the way I play now, back in December I finally reached lv. 30 and was ready to move onto ranked(or so I thought) immediately I thought I was going to be like, some of my favorite players like imaqtpie or other like theoddone, as you can see I like twitch a lot. but all that would end up happening was that for every game I did bad in or felt that i should lose, there were three others that was completely due to toxic players, and eventually the bronze 3 that I achieved out of provincials quickly turned into a bronze 5. and I was completely heart broken, all the things i hear about being able to carry yourself out seems like a lie now because I know first hand that you cant carry a bad team. It leaves me to wonder if all the good players out there were just lucky. but that's not the point I'm trying to make, what i actually had in mind while creating this post was a question. I remember in the client a while back there was a post discussing the behavior of players following the free skins(which i got!), but the post had said that most LOL players are actually well behaved. I have trouble believing that as my personal experience says otherwise, my PERSONAL experience says that if you even begin to lose, or make a mistake even while winning you will be chewed out by at least one or two others on the team, who will then do even worse than you, and thus the team morale is ruined. I'm not just some whiner I love to play games competitively, i started on call of duty, but have play many like street fighter 4, soul caliber, marvel vs capcom, Mario kart, battlefield, and many more i aint no little kid . Back on topic my question is does anyone else have this experience as well or is it just me? I do realize that yes this is my PERSONAL experience so it may be the black sheep of ideal play but i truly don't know outside of my own friends. My second question is to what terms does Riot define a toxic player? I realize that Riot does not have any reason to answer this at all but i would appreciate knowing. some more background about the system and even though i won't give up my hope in ranked, and i definitely wont stop playing this amazing game.

Welcome to league, where skill actually matters, and you should've taken the time to read up on matchups and abilities, bought more champions, and played normals before jumping into ranked.

i played beginner 3v3 bots until level 15 ish, was veigar(first mage champion i fell in love with) bought tear first item, 2 boots of lucidity, and 3 fiendish codexs. then i started playing 3v3 intermediate up to level 30 to the point where i went 20-0 regardless of lane/champion.

after i was going 20-0 on bots i saved up for 16 champions i wanted, not 16 champions that were the cheapest. i played tons of games on them. i also saved for tier 3 runes, i bought movement quints, AD reds, mana regen yellow, and flat ap blue. ( i favored last hitting, and dodging skill shots)

after that i finally went to ranked once i had that first page of mine, crap hit the fan, pretty sure i went 3/7, somehow go placed into s5. from there im like whatever, casual play (FWOTD BOTS EVERY SINGLE DAY) GET THAT 150 IP.

i was playing roughly 2 ranked games a week very casual. i was ranking up slowly, made it to s1 at the end of season 4 i was in promos to gold 2x (trolls go figure).

didnt make it in time before the season was ending, it was finals week for me around that time and i just couldn't play as much as i wanted.

TL;DR save up, find champs you actually like to play, buy rune pages, make sure you dont get counterpicked in ranked, take it serious and actually try to win, dont just go "i have to play ranked because im 30 and normals are for noobs".

If only riot cared about the people who take ranked seriously. Supposed to be for competitive play.....get noobs and trolls every other game

play better than noobs and trolls and you will leave them. treat every game with respect and always look to advance, get ahead, and snowball to victory. you will leave them. but there are dcs even in diamond+, people still lock in urgot occasionally, it never really goes away, it just gets lesser and lesser.

I lock in Urgot and then win lane once I buy Tear. Am I a troll? I hope not.

Even if you play better than noobs and trolls though, if you lose the match you still get dragged down with them. That's why shit like this happens, where if you wanted to play a decent ranked match, not everyone does. I do agree with your point that it does become less of a thing as you rank up, but it's kinda hard to come out of that hole when nobody wants to help you up out of it first.

tl;dr: He just turned level 30 and got placed in Bronze 5. Everyone is toxic and mean there.

Tired of people complaining about toxic players and people being mean. Grow a pair or push the mute button. That's what it's there for

dude, you just hit level 30, there are people complaining about being level 30 for years and still being bronze 5. The game is hard but you can carry those bad teams you just have to learn how. A lot of things you prob dont think about like farm will get you wrecked. I do agree with you on the community being a faggot learn to use the mute button if you want to win

well i'm pretty well kept up on the community, i started off playing with silver tier players, my friend would duo with me a lot. but how would not communicating help? its a catch 20.

I read about 5 lines. Formatting is needed, but I got the gist. Riot said that 5% of the playerbase is bad enough to warrant corrective punishment. In a game with 10 people, that equates to 1 person every other game being a horrible teammate. We all realize there is usually 'some' toxicity in a game though. While 5% might be severe cases, its likely that another 20% are negative in any given game (mild enough not to be reported). It sucks, but just keep ur chin up and work on being a positive influence on the community. this is an attitude issue with NA in general, whatever game you go to. Its just more prevalent when you are in a team-play game like this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrRkNi6PamE this is doublelift playing in bronze on a smurf. you can see how easy he finds bronze and how it is possible to carry. it's not luck, it's skill.
