So I'm wondering when the KAlista update is.

Probably after the other champion updates that have been in the gutter for far longer?

They're supposedly going to explore some options for her in 6.24 cycle. Of course, this is probably going to only be a bandaid fix, as she needs a whole rework to make her a healthy addition to the game.

Also there's this: Kalista is basically Yorick'd / Poppy'd until further notice.

probably never because despite the obvious change that would put her right at 50% winrate(making her autos do 100% damage instead of 90% and changing nothing else) they believe they have to completely remake her to make people happy, which will result in her being OP again, then nerfed, and not seen for a year.

like am i the only one that realizes all she needs is a light buff to be put at a place where no one can really bitch? The more Riot thinks nowadays the worse everything gets.

Here's the thing though: she has such an overloaded kit that Riot is currently forced to have her be gutted until they can give her a full VGU. Allow me to explain: she's so strong that, if played at the highest level (Challenger, Professional Play) even now, she isn't bad, it's just that there are better picks. However, her tons of nerfs were to basically put her in a weak state. Riot has made a post here that explains that she has too much in her kit, to the point where the line between "viable" and "pick or ban busted" is razor thin if it even exists and that they plan to buff her a little bit to make her playable for those who, like me, like playing her to be able to do so without being incredibly useless.

As it stands, to revert the change of her attacks scale with 90% AD instead of 100% would make her probably more balanced in the general play, but the instant professional play popped up, she would be pick or ban again. Easy kiting, Rend trumping Smite, and being able to save her support from picks or using them to engage, she has a lot that makes her kit inherently strong.

I commented on there saying that my ideas for long term fixes for her would be to make the ult not make the ally untargetable until they reach Kalista, make her jump have a higher base speed (but lower MS scaling), and rework Rend into something completely different. Putting a stack cap on it would make it too similar to Twitch's Contaminate.

they're not forced to do anything, the ONLY reason she is in the spot she's in is because of scripters which is another problem Riot isn't properly dealing with, Kalista is a truly unique champion that is EXTREMELY hard to master, and the top 0.1% being able to abuse her, and people who are hacking the game's client should not force the rest of us to not be able to play her at all

True. However, you probably saw all the complaints about how the same 16 champions were banned and picked in Worlds every single game? Now imagine that Kalista is allowed to exist for general play, like she did before. Kalista, when strong and played by the pros, pushes everyone else out of the ADC meta. Riot is going to be experimenting with some changes in the 6.24 patch cycle to try to hit that sweet spot with both Kalista and Azir where they can be allowed to exist at general play level without being busted at high tier, but they didn't want to make these changes during ranked season so that, if they fail in their goal, they don't have to roll out a hotfix to prevent them from becoming too powerful in the competitive and general ranked scenes. Right now, where ranking counts for next to nothing and the pros aren't playing, is the perfect time to roll out experimental changes and to mess around with things.

I'm silver 5 and I play Kalista pretty well overall and have solo carried games with her, even after the nerfs, but I don't play her very often even still because she's just too weak right now. As someone who loves Kalista and wants to play her again without being counted as trolling, I am excited to see these buffs to her.

i played her for over a thousand games the year she came out, i can tell you now, if you made her autos do 100% and didn't touch anything else, she wouldn't be too strong, or push other champions out, having the ability to obtain 50% winrate still puts you below meta champions that often have 54-58% winrate, but 50% is a fair point where people can't really bitch too much

6.24 is the update they said they aimed for her and Azir. So the patch after the next one.
