From everything I've read riot is in the wrong for doing this. He has gone by the summoners code. The problem is the majority of players out there have become butt hurt little girls about things in this game. When I started over 3 years ago playing people trashed talked but it was uncommon for me to find someone who got so bent out of shape they threw the game. Now I'm a Gold V player and I see more people getting bent out of shape over the dumbest that I thought possible in a game. He did communicate with his team what he was do, He did follow the summoners code. The problem here lies in a broken system. I have lost more games due to toxicity from players getting bent out of shape from have a single error pointed out to them than any should. And hey I play this game so I can rage with the best of them but at the end of the day what riot is doing to AdellaideSkyhart is nothing short of wrong.

This is still going? Thats amazing. You realize there's this ToS when you sign up, and if you read it, it basically sums up to riot doesn't have to do anything for you, and can do whatever they want. Regardless if riot is right or wrong, they can ban whoever they want. It's just the way it is. There's been a countless number of threads on this, and it isn't gonna change anything.

No the problem was that he wasn't playing as a support and hurting his team by basically leaving his ADC to die. He did break the Summoners Code, he deserved his ban.

Breaking the meta is not a bannable offense. A subjective contract(Summoners Code) is questionably enforceable in contract law at best, with parts being subject to extreme scrunity and being thrown out if they are not well defined.

But there's a point where breaking the meta becomes trolling. What he was doing was beyond that line. He qued up for support but didn't actually play the role support.

Because the system doesnt allow for things besides the designated meta. He wanted to be a dedicated counterjungle - not a support, and the system simply didnt allow for it.

So he did the right thing:

He said what he going to do clearly in chat for everyone to read.
He was not toxic in any way, shape, or form.
He was trying to win.

This entire situation reeks of social justice.

He was co-operating with his team. He very clearly communicated what he was doing.

This is the problem with prescribed roles; you can ONLY play those roles. Even if he were a duo, he would be getting reported all the same.

They were banned for not following the meta, thats all there is to it. There is ZERO room in the current draft system for anything but the meta; off meta supports are still wholly supports. Off meta junglers are still junglers. There is no "roaming" position, no "extra" as it were because support IS the only superfluous position in the game.
