Jungle is Legitimately Awful Now

I have been playing this game as a jungle main since season 2. I've got well over 1000 games in the jungle, across a smattering of junglers but primarily focusing on Elise and Hecarim. I can honestly say that in seasons 2, 3, and 4 jungling felt powerful. It felt strong, like I was really having a big impact on the game.

Not so now.

Because the camps hit so freaking hard, and because we can only field TWO POTIONS on the first run, it has dramatically reduced the viability of almost every jungler who is trying to have an impact early. I have to back most of the time after the first clear because I literally am almost dead. No chance of ganking unless I skip camps because my health will be to low to even consider attempting a gank.

This is such an easy fix too. Make hunter's machete cost 300 instead of 400, giving us two more potions to work with.

Hey congratulations, you figured out the purpose of the jungle changes!

The changes are too much. Jungle is now basically worthless if you are looking to carry.

It's better than before. There's a lot more strategy involved now. And you're not supposed to carry unless you're mid and adc are both suck

Yet, lanes are still determined by which jungler decides to interfere first, or shows up more often. How do the changes even affect you anyways? Elise takes no damage even with the new jungle, so having 2 pots only don't affect her at all, the smite range nerf wouldn't impact her either and neither does machete upgrade costing more impact her either since she can clear more than some of the others; and Hec does fine, or at least I did recently, he does much better than a lot of other champions.

Yet from level 3 on I have Junglers feasting on my lane like its Thanksgiving.

475G - 300G = 175G, which is 5 Health Potions. 5 - 2 = 3 additional potions.

Anyways, I like the current jungle. It reduces the frequency of early ganks (allowing lane matchups and player skill to have a greater early impact compared to jungle influence), gives the jungler more tools to take advantage of (Krug's stun to reduce damage during clear, Gromp poison to speed clear, Wolf to give vision [counterjungling], Raptor buff to detect wards), and makes the time lost on failed ganks more meaningful.

Late game, the Wolf and Wraith buffs can be very useful for the vision war. The scuttle crabs can help maintain control of the rivers. And Baron and Dragon are now more valuable than some flat stat increase or global gold, giving very unique and powerful buffs to the team which controls them.

I love the smite changes - I just wish that we had enough health to do ONE gank attempt before heading back.

It really depends on the champion. I was playing a game on Vi today and I didn't have to back until about 7 minutes, doing a couple clears and ganking a couple lanes.

Out of curiousity, have you been killing a Scuttle Crab after your second buff? It doesn't fight back and I think your machete passive procs when you hit it, so you can heal quite a bit from it.

shaco has no need for any pots at all

Its the EXP changes, not just the difficulty of the camps. Now you fall behind in levels much faster.
