Syndra Main Here....
So, I've been playing Syndra since well before the MYMU, and she WAS definitely one of my favorite champions to play. Some background, I'm low elo, but I just started playing ranked seriously this season, and even then I don't have the time to put into the game to be where I want in the rankings, cause you know, college. That being said, this isn't specific to any elo. Riot, you guys broke Syndra, trying to mold her more to what you believe is her theme. She's not healthy anymore, I played a game earlier this morning where I could literally stand in one place and fight any of the enemy team's champions and win. Now, certainly this does in fact fit her theme of being an immensely powerful mage according to her lore, one that seems to constantly be obtaining more power.
I also remind you that she wasn't powerful enough to stop people from limiting her growth using magic. "But she escaped, and the spell is broken!" So, what, she spent her entire childhood with a barrier on her power, and as soon as it's removed she gains all the power she would have achieved in that time? Don't think so. See, these events made Syndra insane (listen to her dialogue, oh and she murdered everyone at that temple), and let me tell you, no matter how good you are at something, insanity is a huge barrier in itself to get back to where you were, not to mention the spell that stunted her magical growth. So you guys decided that we're actually going to give her the absolute power she desires (I frequently one shot ADCs with my ult without any setup), despite her dialogue indicating she hasn't reached that yet? My argument is that, your changes made Syndra so strong all throughout the game, that you've shifted her playstyle from "trying to regain and achieve Syndra's desired power to "Run playthings" for the entire game. I think that her quest for power thematically makes her a late game champion.
Additionally, going back to the no set up to one shot people in her current state point I made, if she is on this quest for power, shouldn't we as players feel like there are challenges to overcome to unleash her full power? That was the thing that got me into playing this champion in the first place. It was so rewarding to be able to set up the perfect combo and get that 6-7 sphere ult off after all your hard work. Now it's just, "Oh look at that, I somehow have 7 spheres on the battlefield, let me ult their ADC. GG EZ." You gave Syndra immense power but in the process made the player feel less powerful, because I did jack shit to get that perfect ulti off. Riot served it to me on a silver platter.
So yeah, I'm a Syndra main, and I'm asking you to NERF SYNDRA. How? Well, revert the mid year mage changes to her. That raises her skill floor back to where she won't be one-shotting everyone all the time. It puts the focus on manipulating her spheres again, which are her main source of power, and obviously the focus of her kit. This also returns her to her thematic quest for power, since she won't dominate the game from the moment she gets her first kill as soon as she hits level 6, which, as funny as it is, it is also quite disgusting.
TL;DR: Riot, you've unleashed Syndra's power, and now she lacks balance. Thematically, you've taken away her quest for power and given her whaat she wants. Nerf her by reverting the MYMU changes.
