Why hasnt season 9 rank reset, why is the lp ratio so unfair despite no substantial mmr changes?

Evíl cookie2 votesI'm not a riot official but here are some answers:
At the moment we are in preseason. Season 9 starts on January 23, 2019. MMR is a little bit off because of the adding of two new tiers (iron/grandmaster) and removing division 5.
Hari MakDoel um1 votesTy for general info much appreciated
MordridtheBlack2 votesThe date for rank reset changes year to year. The date isn't set in stone but I saw something that said it will reset on Jan 23rd
