Fiora.....Trying to understand why....
I'm not one to typically complain about redesigned or 'improvements' give to champs. Hell, I did not even say anything about
when he got his rework. I took the time to sit down and figure it out.
But even after having taken the time to work with her on PBE and Live serves. After having studied the kit and watched, countless times the higher tiered people attempt to play her, I'm seeing a strong consistency with the
rework. At the fundamental level this champion has been virtually ruined and will undoubtedly be snuffed out from what little use she even had before the rework. Of course I'm accepting of the notion that with her release having just been recent I'm sure her numbers will be lower than expected [I hope.]
On to more mechanical details, she has been mostly nurfed as a general whole with very little to actually 'dual' anyone. The passive being more of a hindrance as even trying to get behind a champ would involve crashing into their minion wave, and or you simply can't get to their vitals because they move out of strike range till it fades to a more comfortable location. She has also lost much of her potential sustainability which crushes her as a general whole.
Moving to her Q, this is not too bad, it is a nice trade off for being able to do it twice as you now have a means of actual escape...if you can time it right. I don't see any real draw backs with this besides potential AD ratios could scale slightly better to pose a threat against other bruisers.
Next, her W. This...this is the one thing you got RIGHT. This ability, is a thing of beauty which she needed desperately as it give her the ability to counter play her targets. Don't touch this, this feels it is in a good place as long as you are able to match your timing.
E...this is hard to really decide on. It can be good but also bad. It offers a nice touch of CC, but at the same time, renders down her potential for bursting someone down pretty null and void, though I'm sure this was the intention.
Finally her Ulti. This thing is a down right mind bend wonder of confusion. You can mark someone to kill, 'dual' them and get the kill, so you get the heal. However! If someone happens to get the kill you don't get the heal? This is a key piece of functionality which renders her ulti virtually useless. If you wanted to give her a damage enhancer, you might as well give her ulti the ability to boost her AD by 20/45/70 while knocking her Q onto a 1.5 or 2 second CD so that she can ACTUALLY dance around her target to hit those points. In addition to this, giving her bonus life steal for the vitals struck while her ulti is active, nothing massive just something which actually feels rewarding. But an absolute must if for allies to be able to trigger her ulti once a target dies else having used her Ulti at all would have been nearly pointless.
There is just simply so much which could have been done with the "Grand Dualist." Instead of a fighter, I feel she is more like a glass cannon all the more than before. The previous problems of being able to carry hard or getting shut down hard seem to have just manifested far more apparently than previously.
Of course, I can be completely wrong in my perspective, as I'm not Riot.
