Old/New Ryze?

Okay so, after half a year I wanted to see if you guys have some solidified opinions on the New Ryze compared to Old Ryze.

Lemme start off: I am honestly having major trouble picking the new Ryze up, but not for inefficiency or difficulty levels... its rather the opposite, the champion feels insanely Lame to me. The possibilites he has with his current kit are just way too limited in my opinion and also give him totally overwhelming damage, adding full skill resets permanently instead of during an "Awakened" time, which I found really pleasing since it gave you clear times of advantage or disadvantage and you actually had to play smart to achieve something. I don´t wanna sound like a little crybaby (I probably do already :p) but I´m gonna be honest: compared to the new Ryze i miss the old one more than any other champ in League. I used to play half of my games on Ryze and played a dozen games or so since the rework... the games do not go bad but I just don´t enjoy them half as much, the gameplay doesnt feel rewarding or satisfying to me.

Soooooo... what are your opinions on Ryze? I am curious, since I basically do not know any Ryze players myself (/ barely ever see him in games nowadays).

As someone who recently hit m6 on him, I'm pretty sure I can be of help.

While his kit does lack some diversity, the choice in summoner spell/keystone you take with him can often change up the complexion of the match entirely. Want to be like TF only with the ability to 2-shot people at lv8? Take TP and DFT. Want to be able to chase down people for kills? Take ghost and stomraiders. Want to be able to self-snowball a lane against a weaker opponent before murdering people across the map? Take ignite and thunderlords (this is a ridiculously abusable one that about 90% of the silver/bronze mid-laners I faced couldn't handle). While he may seem to be pretty bland, he's actually quite diverse with multiple options depending on what scenario you find yourself in.

New Ryze: More combos, more choices, More ultity Old Ryze: 1 optinmal combo, fewer choices I like new ryze better, despite that amount of damage you can do with E+Q late game btw lv 6 ryze EDIT: My spelling sucks

To me new Ryze is so much fun, being able to clear waves with a single Q watching them systematically pop one after another is really satisfying and you feel clever for being able to use your combos appropriately and correctly which is incredibly rewarding to those who have taken the time to learn them properly.

Personally I can't stop wanting to play the new Ryze, in fact I plan to main him soon. He has become a strong pocket pick for in the midlane alongside Anivia and Talon.

I do think they should increase his w damage and scaling but also reduce the extra damage from the e on his q to make it more worthwhile to use if for damage rather than the root
