Cassiopeia is completely ruined!!

The new passive is completely useless. Her new W is ok, but targets do not stay poisoned like before. Her E has been nerfed so bad that more than half of her DPS is gone plus the healing. Just WHAT were you guys thinking?! Thanks for ruining my favorite champion. I appreciate it. -____-

Cassiopeia was ruined a year and a half ago, things are actually looking up with this new rework if they fix her numbers.

You dont understand Cassio. The old Cassio W kept the enemy poisoned for 2 seconds, her new W only for one, so as soon as the enemy leaves her W he is not poisoned anymore. Also to keep the enemy poisoned is much harder now because her W is at a fixed location unlike before.

I'm well aware of how old W worked and how it was used as a sad back-up plan to a missed Q.

So, you think it's fair that a very conditionally powerful champion has every failsafe removed, and her damage mitigated amongst her abilities?

Her old W was her only defense against many popular midlane champions with instant targeted gap closers (Katarina, Zed, Akali, Kassadin to an extent, and Talon) and many junglers (Jax, Lee Sin, Xin Zhao, Master Yi). Her new W is also her only defense against these champions, except instead of denying a zone (herself) she denies the traversal TO that zone. This is FAR less effective, despite what you might expect.

With the range being restricted to far away from her, and only in a specific area, AND only in a horizontal arc, the most Cassiopeia can do is delay the inevitable jump to her. Since the poison expires immediately upon the enemy leaving the area, her effective damage (E) is reduced immediately and she is defenseless, with a useless W sitting in a corner. Originally she would ACCEPT the inevitable jump, forcing the enemy to decide whether or not to make themselves vulnerable to her strong slow and E. If she could survive the initial onslaught, it was then a matter of outdamaging the opponent before they can escape.

Her current W is such that it requires a high degree of skill and sheer coincidence to ever be utilized to its full potential. It is far more effective at preventing escapes than it is at preventing engagement, which, in this hyper-aggressive midlane meta with tons of easy assassins plaguing it, is nearly useless until lategame. She depends on her team to outscale the opponent and then she can support to secure kills with W. I'm almost willing to play her support with Relic Shield to see if that is somehow better than her mid game.

Except for her R and flash, like most champions that fill a similar role to Cassiopeia.

Right, to depend on a hard-to-land ult (90sec+ cd) that puts her at risk to defend herself.

What are the champions that fit Cassiopeia's role? Mages? Most of them have hard CC or dash/blink in one of their non-ultimate abilities. No other mage is really a sustained damage dot/poison kit.

You clearly do not play Cassiopeia extensively to understand how her kit works together.

Aurelion Sol is a dps mage who has even worse options than cassiopeia when someone jumps on him (he can't even use his major source of dps) yet CLG has picked him up at MSI and other teams are afraid enough of the pick to spend a ban on it.

Having a weakness doesn't make a champion worthless.

Her ultimate is instantly countered by Zed, Katarina, and Talon because they all teleport behind her or become immune. It has a tiny width at that range, so Akali can simply walk to the side. Flash is a crutch that blurs the lines of all champions' strengths and weaknesses, and it should not be something developers have to count on to make a kit viable.

I agree that her new W is utterly useless. I've only been able to use it in a support role, and even then, it was to block the lane in case they tried to chase. I would gladly strip off this grounded mechanic and get back her pre-Shurima Miasma.

As a note, her E is getting its mana dropped and damage increased in an upcoming hotfix. They also stated they overestimated her passive and will be adjusting numbers to put her on par with boots, which is desperately needed. I was at level 9 and an enemy Ashe at level 9 was out speeding me with her finished boots.

And finally, I'd rather have this weak numbered kit that can be gently buffed into viability than that abortion of a passive that was shackled onto her in the Shurima rework.
