Meta refers to the strongest strategy in the game.

Anything that is META is inherently stronger than any other option.

Fantasizing about tank meta leaves other roles weaker.

Stop being stupid.

How many games do you watch Nautilus or Malphite or another tank destroy an ADC with one combo while the ADC does 0 damage?

How many games do you watch an ADC 3 hit an assassin?

How many games do you watch an assassin 1 combo an ADC?

How many games do you see a support destroy an ADC in lane?

How many games do you see a mage out range a melee assassin and burst them down?

How many games do you see ...

What I'm getting at is: Yes, there's a meta. Quit being a b1tch. Either follow it and be a sheep or learn your role, learn ALL your matchups. Meaning enemy power spikes, their cooldowns per ability level, their mana costs, their windows of trading. Learn how to f8cking play and stop b1tching on the forums expecting free challenger rank. You're not as good as you think you are. If you were, then maybe you would be in that higher elo you pretend you are in ?

And I swear to god if some1 brings normals MMR I'm going to pray for your god damn soul for being stupid enough to imagine that normals MMR and ranked MMR are in anyway similar.

Meta isn't the strongest strategy in the game, it is the strongest strategy that is widely used in the game. It is possible to have an off meta strat that is stronger than the meta strat. I have been using off meta since Season 2 and its been working out for me much better than 97% of the people that use meta. Understanding the game is what makes people improve and climb. Being a sheep and doing things while unsure of why will not gain you elo unless something is absolute busted. In that scenario you just lose any elo you gain once it gets nerfed and you can't survive at your new rank without it.

You do have good points. META is there and it should be played and abused, because it's the most possible way to lead to a victory, like it or not. Now, people can choose to be meta slaves or OTPs, but don't bitch about not being able to climb or that something is broken. META exists because perfect balance cannot be achieved.
