Riot support answered an e mail of mine (sth that I really appreciate) about all these changes that happened at jungle these last seasons. The one who helped me told me that some changes were made to make junglers stop farming in jungle all the time and help other lanes because that's their job. Of course this is acceptable but...isnt it true that the good jungle is gonna gank when needed while the bad jungle is gonna afk farm? In any case I'd like you, riot, remember these old good days , where every monster had a special buff, there were 4 types of jungle items and jungle items were worth buying and maybe one day bring this all good stuff back. Thanks a lot.
They used to say that lv3 ganks were problematic, so they addressed it by reducing the jungle xp. Little did they know, that champions can still start at red buff and they can still do lv3 ganks. If they start elsewhere, some of them can still do a lv2 gank due to their kit.
Also, not here to nitpick, but weren't some champions designed around the simple fact, that their ganks prior lv6 is suboptimal and can be a suicide? They never got any compensation. Also remember that there are farming junglers, who have really good clear but their ganking potential is lacking, and that they were supposed to put pressure on the more ganking oriented junglers by taking their farm while they are ganking. Remember that the only criteria for jungle was that they have nice jungle clear.
Last but not least: ganking still requires the jungler and the cooperation of the specific lane. Not all ganking junglers can or should go under tower (
doing it when his ult is down is just legit feeding) for example. In fact: a jungler was supposed to be taking the objectives, ganking can be done by midlane as well. Also, ganking still needs a team, who understand that for example if you are on the bottom side of the map, you can't teleport to toplane just because the top laner got into trouble. One should only expect a gank, when the jungler is near to your lane.
