With the new Zed skin it would have been the perfect opportunity to bring back the mode. So many people are missing ARURF and need something similar. Odyssey Extraction is really fast paced and fun.
I know some people really disliked the mode but I see no downside for bringing it back to the people that really enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved that game mode. Getting all the missions done was probably the most rewarding and satisfying experience I had in all the time I am playing this game. But bringing back Odyssey when they just added 1 new skin to it (which would have to most likely end up as a boss alternative for Kayn) would feel lackluster.
They should create a new line of skins for Odyssey, a completely new crew with their own unique augments for this game mode. Just playing this game mode with the same 5 champions we played it the first time wouldn't be as exciting, since there wouldn't be alot of new stuff to discover. To really hype this game mode up again, they should go the full way and do another event with new skins.
Some examples for possible new skins:
Some kind of ora priest, filling Sona's role.
Engineer of the new crew, filling Ziggs' role.
Ekko's battle robot, fueled with ora, filling Malphites role.
Former headhunter, filling Jinx' role.
Captain of the new crew, filling Yasuo's role.
Sukishoo1 votesIt's most likely because MSI is coming up as this patch starts the MSI patches, they don't want to take away from that Esports Event by having a Game Mode that was made for another Event.
kda akali1 votesRiot could have just intertwined both of them together. During worlds there was also a Halloween event at the same time, so why can't there be an Odyssey event too?
Sukishoo1 votesThat's cause Halloween always happens at that time as a Seasonal thing and they made that event huge. It had 3 segments to it (Worlds, Halloween and KDA).
MSI is something that happens in the middle-ish of the season (mid season invitational), and hasn't had other events linked around it. Plus they just had their Mini ARAM event, it was also mentioned not long before that that there were only 4 more major events left. I'd say it'd be the upcoming MSI event as there is a pass for that in 9.9, Worlds/Halloween, maybe Project/Star Guardian will get something, then of course there's Snowdown.
So it's not like they really need to push an event with every single patch.

Why not? Because playing the exact same mode wouldn’t be as interesting. And making a new set of missions and stages would take time and resources.
Saezio1 votesI absolutely adored the mode, and liked the missions that were harder than the average missions in my opinion.
But I would like to see them bring it back with a whole new set of champions. Not just a different villain.
