Skarner has useless passive

Skarner is probably the only one champion who is not using his passive in 3/4 game.

His passive is INCREDIBLY strong late game, not only do they scale giving you more attack speed per level but you also gain more BASE attack speed per level making it even better since it is a % of your base.

You also gain the passive buff when you stun an enemy with E.

Problem is skarner is a late game champ that relies on item 3078 and item 3053 he has one of the highest base ad of all champions in the game at lvl 18 and one of the lowest at lvl 1

And the meta is shifting very far away from late game champs. better objectives such as drags, and the upcoming tower killing rift herald

Which will really snowball a game in favor of whoever is doing better in the early game.

Its not Skarner its the meta, although his zones do help stop enemies from snowballing if you can get your team to prepare for these fights over by dragons and rift heralds they will pretty much determine the game against strong early game champs

If you do lose jungle objectives, your next best bet would be to gank and make picks ferociously and snowball whoever you can on your own team along with keeping your towers up and relieving map pressure. Yes I am telling you to ult ult ult ult

So skarner does have the tools to survive early to mid game, he just needs a competent team since he cannot carry anything till late game.

Back to his passive, all in all, its just his main tool for contesting objectives that might have otherwise been lost, but late game his passive makes him incredibly strong when he lands his E or walks into one of his zones.

"Eh, there's a spire here, guess I'll grab it"

10/10 gameplay decisions.

you think that's bad? shyvana gets nothing outside of summoner's rift

and even then it's possible to deny her dragons/drakes entirely, still giving her nothing.

I mean... when everyone is level 18, Zilean essentially has no passive.

Skarner's passive, while gimmicky and underwhelming at times, is not at all useless.

The fact that you get the bonuses when you E stun or R someone is fantastic and makes you very powerful should you close the gap. And 'should you close the gap' fits with the Juggernaut design, since Skarner is, of course, a Juggernaut.

A few changes would be nice, but it could be just fine the way it is. Perhaps make the spires impossible to claim by the enemy while Skarner is within it's radius.

yeah they kinda missed the mark on skarner. he needs a passive rework and he would be pretty good

To be fair, there are a couple passives that make the champion weaker.

But yes, his is very bad and he is in need of help.

Not really, when a team has a skarner on it you stop playing league and it turns into a game of stepping on the crystals every couple minutes.

agreed. Maybe replace it with a mechanic where those marks have a spawn trigger instead of being prearranged on the map? idk, I like how it empowers, but it really limits his optimal team fighting scenarios.

it looks so awkward that those things are in the summoner rift tho. It makes you think of Ascension
