A General discussion about Toxic Behavior within League Of Legends

Recently I have been banned from league permanently for flaming in post-game chat. (Keep in mind that that can happen now, which wasn't announced in the slightest // Was hidden so well that it flew over my head)

So this got me thinking about something, what is the general thoughts on toxicity in league of legends? and what is the age range of fans of the game?

Personally I'm 17 years old and if a majority of the player-base in around 16+ in league of legends I don't even see the point of banter being restricted. A lot of games will ban you if you cheat, or if you intentionally feed your games. But not a lot of games actually care about what is said between players.

So the real question is now this; Do you think league of legends would be a better game more fun without the ability to get penalized for what you type in the game? (Keeping in mind that you can turn off 100% of chat in game without overtly affecting gameplay) (Remember that this affects everyone in the game, including you)

If not; please say why

Now I know league will never change their system, hell they even upgraded it and it smited down my sorry ass. I just wanna know the consensus of how much the player-base would respond if toxicity was suddenly allowed without penalization. (That'd be a great april game mode btw rito)

Edit : If you think league should be less strict with its toxic player-base, feel free to explain how in the comments! Edit2 : I'm not promoting toxicity in league of legends, I just want to see the general thoughts of the fan-base. I personally hate toxicity in league (although mostly because I can't defend myself without crying to riot about it)

Some multiplayer only game does care about toxicity a lot. I mean just take a look at rainbow siege. Anyway the only way you could've been perma'd form toxicity was if you had a previous ban before or you used zero tolerance words which skip you to 2 weeks ban or perma ban instantly.

I don't mind a little bit of toxicity because it's a pretty competitive game after all. There can be heated moment and you just act out on impulse, and riot understand this which is why you get chat restriction for your first few minor offenses (unless of course you use the zero tolerance words). It's the people that never learn to shut up is the problem. It's annoying and just bring the team's morale down. They stop focusing on the game and basically play to lose. So league wouldn't be more fun if you weren't penalized for being overly toxic because then people would type more instead of playing the game. When I launch up League of Legends I want to enjoy a game. I don't want to read a novel about how your life suck because jungler isn't ganking for you, or that bot lane is "feeding" because they fed first blood and you just gave up playing.

I agree! I think that people that are constantly toxic and people that give up when playing ruin this game for everyone!

I also think that because of people who are constantly toxic ruin things for long time players who occasionally receive punishments because it then adds up to be seen as repeated offenses when its really just an small amount of offenses from a long time playing.

Now I'll ask a follow-up question, do you think that players should have their offenses reset after a certain date or do you think that the way it is now is acceptable? I'm sorry for being such a bother lol, I'm just really passionate about this

Your account sorta does sorta get a "reset" if you have a lot of clean games.

I am in the middle ground to be honest. I do not think you should ever permanently ban someone's account for being a shit head in their games. Maybe a 1 week, or constantly chat restrictions till they relax and stop, that's about the extent I think the punishments should ever go to.
