Please don't forget about Malzahar

I don't want people to forget about all the issues that silently revolved around him since the MYMU and became quite visible since he was a bot lane pick.

I was feeling like people were finally agreeing, that even though his old kit needed work it was a better one.

I would love to see him reverted! Because he deserves a better Identity or a full VGU later on. But whatever he is now, is just not a Void Prophet, nor a really well designed Mage, nor (in my opinion) a enjoyable Champion :/

After the most recent patch there were tonnes of Malz threads, pleading for changes or reverts.

Riot didn't respond to a single one, so it's safe to say he's going to remain the way he is for a while.

nah we should let that champ rot in the dumpster for a lil bit before we look at him again

I just want to play Malzahar again, not this coward of a conjurer.

Malzahar was smartly designed that he couldn't summon Voidlings on command and was instead forced to cast his spells to get them. This prevented him from leaning on them like a crutch and not engaging with his lane opponent. Due to the range of Malzahar's spells, in order to be effective, Malzahar had to move into his opponent's range to make sure his spells were being used to the best of their ability and not wasting mana.

The first thing that needs to be done to start fixing Malzahar is move his Voidlings back to being a passive.

Who?

Along with a dozen other abandoned champions, who were better before their reworks; but riot did anyway just to alienate the original fans for the sake of getting new fans. Which ultimately fails because the rework plays worse than before.

The main issue is that Malzahar was problematic before his rework, and is still problematic post-rework. Riot needs to find a balance of old and new Malzahar to keep him in at least a decent state before his much-needed VGU.

Or, Riot will do Riot things and

  1. Aatrox him.
  2. Forget about him completely.
  3. Don't touch him until another rework.

I would like him to keep the Q resetting the aids mechanic but apart from that, revert the rest.

Damn right. Revert my malz.

New one is just poorly designed cancer.

I read a post on boards a while back, that talked about putting Malz's voidling back on his passive but making it just one single Voidling, with a lot of hp, that would re-spawn 20s after it died or something.

An actual perma-pet would be cool, and it might actually fit on Malzahar.

its not forgetting about him if they purposely choose not to revert him. do you know what the word forget means?

I'm not the Malzahar expert (don't even know how to spell his name) but a lot of our team is out at the moment so I'll try my best to provide context in the meantime.

The changes are intended to affect his support performance more than mid, but it is inevitable that any nerf at all will affect both. That being said, Malzahar mid has been in a very comfortable (often, TOO comfortable) spot for a long time and I would personally expect him to still be in the** upper half of midlaners** across Bronze->Diamond in terms of pure power level despite the nerf.

Here's what one Rioter had to say. I mean they even referred to him as "Malzahat" in the thread..

He's a void pauper atm. :/

It's sad because Malzahar is one of the coolest champions lore wise.

I didn't like him pre rework and I don't like him post rework. The whole let's suppress someone from 2.5 seconds on a point and click is just not something should exist. Warwick for example is so much better off now without it.

MeDicenWera2/15/2017, 7:25:17 PM1 votes

Is this a post about Malzahar not acomplishing his design fantasy or him being unhealthy?

Ionian Vulpix2/14/2017, 6:48:10 PM1 votes

Why not? Didn't like the ability to never go near my wave pre-rework lest I get aids and silenced, glad to see him awful. He shoved eaves faster Viktor.

Make his ultimate a skillshot, and for all I care you can return him to the rework-release state.
