As someone that cannot stand Akali, she's really not that strong.

Don't know if this is a particularly hot take to have but I kinda just wanna talk about this bitch.

Her damage isn't isn't super impressive, not that it needs a buff (God, Riot better not buff her damage), it's just perfectly serviceable considering that she has one ability that does consistent damage. and sure it's annoying, but the healing off of her q isn't really a big deal cause you can just build an item that applies grievous wounds and, boom, she's healing for 40% less. and besides she's only healing when she has above 180 energy, which to be fair is kinda moot since as an energy champ that's only 6.5 seconds between a heal on an ability that can get up to a 1s cooldown and cost over 75% of her energy pool to cast twice, but still, it's not hard to punish her during those six seconds. It's kinda wild her e doesn't have a limited range of reactivation, I kinda think it should just be a single use dash since it's really wack that her backflip range is roughly the same as flash, but that might just be me.

Tbh the biggest issue about her, in my eyes, is her ult not costing any energy and just her entire W. I think everyone can agree that true stealth was a truly bullshit mechanic that needs to be aborted from the game before CertainlyT decides to give it to anyone else, but I also think Akali would be a much less hated champion if her threat bubble was more static (Honestly I think everyone would be happier if they just reverted Akali's q to what it originally was, but keep those clean as fuck smoke particles) , But her ult not costing anything is a slightly bigger issue than at first glance, since it's kinda a brainless ability because of it if only because it deals mixed damage while doubling as an execute. Combine all these together and it just kinda makes Akali feel like a champion that'll get to you no matter what because her with her two big abilities (w and ult) she doesn't really have to sacrifice anything to get close to you since neither of them cost energy, and that can (understandably) be a bit frustrating.

Idk while there are definitely some frustrating things in Akali's kit that definitely need to be changed/removed, I feel like the bellyaching around new Akali is a bit overexaggerated, but not completely undeserved.

If they remove Obscure, or revert it back to the old E, then Akali will need damage buffs in order to actually function.

The reason she has that powerful of a defensive tool is because most of her damage is loaded into her passive, which requires her to move away from and then back towards the enemy. You take away her ability to do that in a fight, then you have to compensate it with higher output from her abilities.

Increase the delay between shrouding when she attacks out of her shroud before she disappears. At least 1.5s would be nice so I can at least hit the bitch. Other than that her damage can stay.

Really the only issue with her is the shroud delay, it's too short and she can disappear before you can even get a targetted spell or auto off.

The problem with Akali is how she can dictate fights with her Shroud.

As an assassin you are suppossed to have mobility, escapes and burst damage.

But Akali has something no one has, the ability to just wear down a beefy target by coming in and out of stealth to poke again and again and again, then all in with ULT. The fact she can kill juggernauts is garbage and the main reason I hate her.

As a juggernaut you want to be strong and have the feeling you didn't kill people only because they were too afraid to come near you.

Akali just doesn't care. Land an E on Darius, take it, pop shroud under his tower, Q poke, in and out of stealth poking again and again, leave.

It's probably the only champion in game with no counterplay because of one ability.
