I've finally saved nearly enough blue essence for a champion and the leveling capsule I'd received contained a smaller value of blue essence in champion shards than i'd anticipated (painfully smaller) thus putting me just shy of my champion with 3+ days of "First win of the day"s before I can purchase. I just started playing this game again after like a year or something, never was a frequent player to begin with but HELLO DOTA

If you don't enjoy the gameplay its totally good to bail, if you like dota 2 go for it man. I really do want you to have fun with what you spend your free time on. I just find your complaint ridiculous when the assumption is made that you posses the ability to do basic math. Probably coming across as a dick, id encourage you to not take it personally, just the BE gains are clear cut what the min is, its rng-ish, so do math for worst case and you will only ever be excited when your wrong. Also I had to grind my champions out during seasons 1-3 so I'm jaded AF with how easy players have it now.

Kai Guy1 votesAlrighty then, I assumed your talking about a a recent level up, one you got for hitting level 31 or 32 (pre level 30 BE gains are not the same as post 30)
Lets make a formula you can plug into any champion you want.
X will be the BE cost to unlock a champion, This cost can be 450, 1350, 3150,4800,6300, or 7800.
Y is going to be your current BE.
(Y+820) - X = Z. When Z > or = X you can unlock that champion. look to the worst case and your golden.
Another way to look at this is that any time your about to level, If your BE is at or higher 6,980 You will get enough BE from that level up to unlock Any single champion in the game, even one that was just released.
