I haven't played LoL for very long, mainly some of Season 4 and most of Season 5 I think. My MMR was low in Season 5 and I'd win a few games, gain 16 LP and then lose and lose 20 LP per loss. I felt like I was playing good enough but not being rewarded for my play. I quit playing LoL for a while.

I came back during the Season 6 preseason after LOTS of practice before playing ranked. Was excited to start my placements. I got out of B5 pretty quickly in preseason. So I go 7-3 in placements with a KDA of 11.2 / 5.4 / 9.1. I carried many of those games. Where do I get placed? Bronze 5. My MMR says it is 478 when average is 717. I've asked this before and people say "well just keep winning and it will balance out" and other things like that. I put time into this game, I try to improve constantly. Where is my incentive to even keep playing? I probably carry 75% of every Bronze game I play. Yet I have an atrocious MMR. No, I don't understand MMR and I personally think it's a f**king joke. What more do I have to do? And if you say just keep playing....well a person can only "keep playing" so long without getting discouraged. It's ranked, it's competitive. There has to be incentives for playing this game. Reward me for my good play. I'm not saying where I should be. I don't know where I should be. I just know that it's not Bronze 5.

Anyone have any logical, HELPFUL responses or explanations?

I don't know man. I always try my best and am pretty critical of my mistakes...but I always remind myself...in 20 years, who will ever care about how bad I am at League? I can pour thousands of hours into it for, really, nothing. Find things that are truly worth pouring your life into and enjoy playing League in your spare time. I'm sure that you are already doing that too, but just a reminder. Compared to eternity...is it worth it?

Yeah I know and you're totally right. I do enjoy playing it, but I'm pretty competitive and like to excel at whatever it is I'm doing. Usually one would get a reward or satisfaction for doing well. It seems to be the opposite here. I'm going to keep playing because last season when I was in Bronze 5 I belonged there. I quit playing ranked and practiced tons and watched tons of videos. I elevated my play a whole lot and I'd just like to see the benefits of my hard work.

I just played my first ranked game after placements into B5. Won 26LP and went 10:1 KDA so I mean if the high LP continues I guess I will get out soon.

"Where is my incentive to even keep playing?" You play League because it's a game and you play games to have fun because they are toys. You don't play them to pretend to pretend that you super-great bestest at playing with this game, this toy. But if you want to play ranked because you actually want to improve, you do it for its own sake. If you don't, then you don't.

"No, I don't understand MMR and I personally think it's a f**king joke." It's simple; How can it possibly be joke? It's a rating, a numerical representation of who you win against because you actually do win or lose against them. You win against people with Number X, you lose against people with Number Y, therefore your number is the number between the two. It's very simple.
