Chill out. You do know that if you land a stun/snare/knockup he gets one shot? The salt is strong with this one.

Ya, I'm calling shenanigans on this one.

Real talk RIGHT NOW Yi is grossly overpowered, largely due to item 3710 , but still.

One point I feel needs to be made clear, "Weak to CC" is NOT a thing. EVERY champion is weak to CC! Yi with his slow proof Ultimate and stealth dash Q if anything is LESS weak to CC then most.

Yi is currently just no fun to play against, I've personally always disliked him, he's binary, boring, and has some incredibly annoying players among his base... Currently, just having him on the enemy team means that its NEVER safe to be alone! And that's just not cool.

Every champion is affected by CC, but to what degree depends on the champion and build.

Tanks and bruisers (especially Mundo, Irelia, and Olaf) don't really care about getting CCed since they are durable enough to survive in most cases. By absorbing CC for their team, they are protecting their allies from it and doing their job.

Squishy carries (especially those who depend on mobility or or channeled abilities) are more vulnerable when CCed, since they can easily die within it's duration without being able to react.

Katarina is especially vulnerable to CC since so much of her damage is in her channeled ultimate; if you cancel it early, then she loses a significant portion of her damage and potential resets.

I'm level 30... :P

And right now Yi is just untouchable against too much of the champ pool! I'm getting really tired of watching him just derp all over everyone, ignoring towers, shredding tanks, un-catchable when he wants to escape, and un-escapable when he wants to chase! I haven't seen so much Yi in AGES ! It';s starting to feel like I'm level 16 when he was on both teams in EVERY game again! :P

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

Oops, accidentally looked up the OP instead of you. My bad there.

Removed that section.

BlackEyesBlue1 votes

No stress! :P

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Mine is just that this game is heading in a VERY poor direction!; And this post about Yi is just one part of it!

I have no idea why Riot Has taken most of the games simplest champions and given them reworks, buffs and OP items that makes them able to just step over more intricate champions! Between the Juggernauts, Sated Devourer, ADC's getting nerfed into the ground, and gutting of Rune Glaive, the last couple of months feels like the LEAST balanced the game has ever been!

I'm waiting to see if there are any games in worlds that are just tanky bruisers and 100 -0 dulests bowling over people playing more intricate champions... and if it happens, I REALLY hope it leaves the crowd thinking "WOW! That was boring!" And forces some change in direction!

You got it, Yi stomps teams that have silly team comps, without proper tanks who have plenty of CC an peel Yi can seem too strong.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

It doesn't even have to be the team composition; Master Yi is great at dueling and can kill most isolated targets pretty quickly.

Many people just don't know how to group, rotate, or control vision properly and get caught out.

VeterenMantis1 votes

When you group Yi IS at his most dangerious. unless you chain CC him you are just inviting him to 3 shot your carrys.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC4TT36h9FU Not the best example but, Yi might as well have Soloed us there. and when I said Us I was the Lee sin. he was CC'd By the time we got the CC off the damage was done. he three shotted Kash the blitz tried but, our carrys were down at that time.

third. he is a High AD temporary Immunity True damage dealing FUCK with a stupid double shot passive. he has TOO MUCH GOING FOR HIM. he come built in with an OP heal. Most champions stuns are skill shots. he just has to duck behind a minion for a second.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

The only hard-CC on that team was Blitzcrank's Q and E (which he had used on Thresh before the fight started) and Lee Sin's ultimate (which was on cooldown). Unless Master Yi somehow walked onto a Caitlyn trap, you had nothing to stop him.

Master Yi was level 18 when most of the players were between 14 and 16. Levels provide a lot of stats, so that alone provided a significant advantage in durability and damage.

Master Yi was full-build when even the 20/8/4 Kha'zix was only 5 items.

Kha'zix had less than 1000 health and no defensive items when Master Yi jumped on him. Dying within three attacks is expected at that point.

Your team was low on cooldowns since they had blown pretty much everything on the skirmish before and on Thresh after Blitzcrank pulled him.

Master Yi could not have asked for a better setup.

Dueling is basically all Yi has going for him.

Stop putting yourself in situations where he can duel you.

So your saying NEVER split from your team? Take at least 2 people to stop EVERY split push attempt? Never engage with inferior numbers? Don't even TRY to defend a tower alone? Those are all terrible from a design stand point!

Depends on who is on your team. Tryndamere can certainly stop Yi 1v1 if Yi isn't far ahead, for example.

Also, plenty of champions can defend a turret solo against Yi. He's squishy, so if he gets stunned or rooted under turret he has to back the fuck up or die.

VeterenMantis1 votes

Here is how Majority of Yi vs Tryndamere ends. Yi is fed. Tryndamere is fed. They engage. Yi forced Tryndamere to ult. Yi pops his ult and runs away. tyrndamere's ult dies off. Yi comes back still in ult and Tryndamere can't get away. Yi finish's Tryndamere with Alpha strike.

A lot of champions can solo yi under a tower. I was just in a game where I was playing Ahri he engaged me under the tower. I charmed him and tried the "EZ One shot burst" every one is talking about and Oh my he killed me alpha striked a minion finished that tower then went on to the base towers.

So shut up and learn what you are talking about. just so you know. we are talking about a champion with too much going for him.

Missing health based heal OP. Hard AD scaling champion. OP True damage. OP Uncatchable. OP Inescapable. OP Temporary immunity that does too much damage just like Fizz. OP

No, I'm afraid not. Assuming equal items Tryndamere easily kills Yi 1v1, especially now that Warlord's Bloodlust exist. Tryndamere does enough damage per hit due to constantly critting to 2-3 shot Yi with auto attacks. Yi will be lower in the exchange due to having lower base durability and damage, and if Yi ults to run away (lol, if he doesn't ult at the start of the fight he's not doing enough DPS to make Tryndamere ult before Tryndamere kills him) Trynd just spins towards him and auto attacks him one more time. ez

Maybe Tryndamere players in very low elo like Bronze II can't handle Yi, but Tryndamere is known to be very capable of killing Yi one on one. Tryndamere kills Yi, Yi kills Nasus, Nasus kills Tryndamere. The circle of life.

Yi is easy to deal with.

VeterenMantis1 votes

I completely agree. Riot has made a champion that you have too send 2 or 3 players to go stop. if you don't he will literally solo ninja everything. that means that the enemy team is significantly stronger then the remaining 3 or 2 members of your team. something needs to be done NOW

VeterenMantis1 votes

Dueling, an OP missing health based heal..True damage Temporary immunity like Fizz an ult that makes him ether uncatchable or inescapable.

Are you sure dueling is all he is good for? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC4TT36h9FU He might as well have solo'd us there. I was the lee sin.

A shitty team comp with minimal CC let Yi get on their back line while Lissandra helped hold them in place. I don't see a problem here.

Also, this video is fucking old as shit and isn't relevant anymore.

No, not everyone is weak to cc in the same way. Binding a 5k hp Maokai who has other resistances is nothing like a bound master yi.

BlackEyesBlue1 votes

Yes, but my points were:

  1. Nobody is ever benefiting from being stunned, knocked up, slowed, ect.

  2. Yi has tools that makes him immune to most soft CC, and a Q that lets him dodge it if used correctly.

Also, not all stuns are created equil either. Just yesterday I rooted him with Lux's Q and even with item 1331 he STILL caught and 100 - 0'ed me as soon as it ended. Using his Q to jump past the Ekko standing in his way...

VeterenMantis1 votes

If you get close enough to "Bind" you are too close to him.

VeterenMantis1 votes

No he doesn't. Not 1vs1 you need a team to burst Yi down. Teams don't exist in bronze, silver and very few in gold. every one just kind of fucks around. the fact one champion comes equipped with a Heal that out heals most damage even from towers is STUPID. he can use enemy minions to escape the tower which mean he is quite literally a Low risk high reward champion. CC him? you are DEAD before you launch the CC and again Alpha strike can be used like playful Trickster. Next time you open your mouth know what you are talking about.

cacarott1 votes

Salt too much? He is not that strong unless you get him fed (which is your fault) or let him farm (again your fault) and if you ask your team to focus him most of the time they will, in any elo. People know what the threat is and will try to kill it asap. And his heal is not that good, he does not outheal towers, the damage block keeps him alive there. If you want a real low risk high reward how about Darius or Garen? Even if you are braindead you can do good with those. And getting good with alpha strike evasion takes time. Yea I can dodge Zed ult but not all Yi's can. I know what I am talking about for your info :) and bitching like a salty kid won't help you.

--> Picks a team that only has slows/no CC into a Yi.

--> Proceeds to complain.

VeterenMantis1 votes

you are so bad, you don't even know how bad you are. It doesn't matter if you have CC Alpha Strike can be used like fizz's Playful trickster. next time pick an argument that is valid.

Lugg2 votes

He is and he isn't. If you are on a team that knows how to use CC and focus him, he's a free kill. If you have the typical solo q team, he will easily get 25+ kills.

VeterenMantis1 votes

there lies the problem.

Majority of the game doesn't even play ranked. which means if you are bronze you are better then most of the community by Riots standards.

My point of all of this is simply this. I am bronze I am better then most of the community by Riots standards. If I struggle to face Yi of equal skill How is every one else going to beat him? I am currently at 1036 Elo I recently lot out right over 100 Maybe even 200 elo. and this 1036 Yi Destroyed my Ahri under a tower. an Ahri that crushed Annie. And yi steam rolled me time and time again even when charmed under towers. so learn what you are talking about.

I have never been in bronze because, when coming out of normals, I wasn't bad enough to be put into bronze.

So no, being bronze does not mean that you are better than most of the community.

Lugg1 votes

I would say the majority of players who DON'T play ranked are better than Bronze. I very high number of people who start rank begin in Silver.

If you charmed a Yi under tower and didn't kill him, that's all on you. A charmed Yi is a free kill under tower.

MAster yi has been and always will be OP because he sells skins. The formula for top seller chars. Weeaboo anime bullshit, very high end power kit and scaling so he remains viable no matter how horrible you do, and of course the kicker, a skin released once a month that some kid who wishes he was Naruto, inuyasha or some other weeb trash will pay money for.

He's left OP by design for the weebs. It appeals to people who want to play HALO in a strat game. It's there for weebs to sink tons of cash into. Hate him for it but it wont change.

VeterenMantis1 votes

And you have a small part of the community defending him. We need to make it known we don't like EZ OP broken No skill champions just because they make a EZ buck for a bunch of corp. monkeys in a tight suit.

second I agree but, Naruto? only thing comes to mind is Ahri.

you mentioned Inuyasha? Only one that comes to mind is Riven.

Halo..you lost me completely..
