'META' IS ENSLAVING YOU
This is a post regarding what Meta and how it works. Meta, as we know is a set of rules made by how champions are balanced in the game. An example of this would be banning Ryze in 5.10 because he is 'broken' or very unbalanced. However, another prime example of this would be not picking Ashe for mid lane just because it is so drilled into our heads that using her in bot lane is the only way to use her. None of this should be assumed to be true, because there are so many champions in the game to choose from, and so many different combinations of champions in a game, it would take a lifetime to play through them all. So, what I am saying is; Meta should not exist. At all. Yes, some champions will naturally be better than others in that lane. i.e. Zed vs. Teemo. You'd be out of your mind (or really unskilled) to lane against Zed as Teemo. But thats where drafting comes into play. Drafting should be a vital part of the game just as laning or grouping is. During this draft, you understand what their captain is afraid of, and who they might pick for. So if they have first pick and they grab Caitlyn, your first instinct would be to... Right, counterpick. So it would only be natural to counter that Caitlyn because you assume she will go bot lane. However, against the right match up, she is a very dominant mid laner. Just as Tristana was before her nerf a few patches back. Korea would play her mid all the time. So now, you're faced with a mid lane Caitlyn, and you pick Graves to counter. So now, the other team picks a support-esque mage. Let's say Ahri. She dominates bottom lane with her long range Q and her combos to efficiently farm and defend her tower. You can just use your imagination for what else could be possible through meta-breaking strategies. All you have to do is put your mind to it.
At this point, I hope you get what I am saying. Meta is non-existent. There are too many options in the game for just single-route ways to play. Champions are much more dynamic than players take them for. If you don't believe me, give it a try.
I'm in the process of developing a guide to this subject, and upon finishing it, I will post a link where you can watch and read it. Thanks for your time of reading this post, criticism is absolutely welcome, but do not be rude.
Thank you, and have a good day.
