Ults + Zhonya

Can someone please explain why some champs (Fid, Kennen, Morg) are able to channel their ults while using Zhonya's?

This seems kind of retarded to me. There is literally no counterplay to it other than 'stand in the ult'.

If RITO is ok with this then they may as well just alter their ults to make them invulnerable since 100% of them build Zhonya anyway.

That would be because those abilities AREN'T CHANNELS.

Fiddlestick's ultimate has a brief channel (which Zhonya's will interrupt) followed by a blink and a PBAOE effect which deals damage around him.

Morgana's ultimate attaches a tether to nearby champions, dealing damage and slowing when applied. If they stay within a certain radius of Morgana until the tether duration ends, they will be stunned and damage will be reapplied. At no point in this ability is there a channel.

Kennen's ultimate is a PBAOE effect which deals damage and applies stacks of his passive to everyone within its range. At no point in this ability is there a channel.

Actually, the counterplay is "walk out of the ult".

It's a simple mistake, but standing completely stationary in their ultimates is a dumb thing to do and I would advise you stop doing so.

They legit stop moving. If anything, an ulting Fiddle walking towards you is harder to fend off than a ulting Fiddle who used Zhonya's, unless you have a knockback.

Killing them isn't the counter to them ulting, walking away from the ult is. For this, Zhonya's is actually helping you.

Also, neither Morg nor Kennen have channeling abilities. Fid has one, but that's for the start up of his ult, after that is not a channel.

Pushing them away (janna ult when they are not zhonya'd), Dashing out / Flashing out, or simply walking away. All of these are "Counterplay".

Ok, forgive my wording. Technically they are not channels.

Ultimately though that doesn't change anything I've said.

I've read your replies. What none of you seem to understand is that these ults can be countered, IF they do not work with Zhonyas.

"Walk out of the ult". That's your answer? Every single person on our team is forced into one single action because one champ is suddenly INVULNERABLE while simultaneously dealing massive damage to everyone around them? Because of an item? That seems balanced to you?

The optimal use of the ults of such champions essentially states:

As a squishy champion, throw yourself in the middle of a 5-man team for optimal AoE and teamfight participation. As a squishy champion. Throw yourself into the middle of 5 enemies.

There ultimates are Urgot levels of pants-on-head derp without the Zhonya's interaction. Especially when you consider a lot of mages like Annie, Zyra, Lissandra, Anivia, and more have ults that do essentially the same thing from a very safe range.

Throw yourself into the middle of a 1-5 man team. Become unkillable. Simultaneously deal huge amounts of damage to all enemies around.

Because of an item.

Not a champion skill.

Not player skill.

An item.

Hi there everyone Let us take another look; The Zhonya is being used by champs like Morgana, Fiddlesticks, Kennen, etc. to jump into the middle of a team while ulting. The most basic issue here is that zhonya is supposed to disable you or at least that is what it says, right? SO, the question is: Why the ults continue to act while they activate zhonya?

From another perspective, is it what a squishy champ is supposed to do? I mean going in first in a team-fight? what would be the value of tanks then? Moreover, this combo is usable under the turrets. As such, there is basically no way to counter it (flashing away doesn't get you outside the ult range).

The point is, either the item's definition needs to be revised or its active ability because currently it doesn't sound logical.

Thank you Riot Sincerely
