So I'm a new player. It took me roughly a week to realize I have no choice but to play on Garena because I get 350+ ping on Riot servers (I tried them all). So I made a new account and started all over.
Was this game really as good as people in the forums say? Has Season 7 & the current one really screwed things over?
I feel I joined League at the wrong time and should discontinue.

Infernape2 votesWell, long ago, Talon, Kassadin and LeBlanc used to be able to silence you meaning you could not do anything while they oneshot you. DFG oneshot everything that wasn't a 4K HP tank, Kassadin had a near 100% ban rate (it peaked at 99.6% IIRC) etc etc.
Hell, Sion used to be able to point and click you for a million (over exaggeration) damage and Poppy used to be literally immortal while destroying your entire team.
DrCyanide2 votesIn general, people have fond memories of the good old days. There were horrors then as well, so don't take all that reminiscing at face value.
Wednesday was a change to a lot of fundamental systems in the game, any I think everyone expects they're to be refinements for the next month or two as things get sorted out. I don't think there's enough problems for a new player to worry too much about it, but if you are worried then wait 2 or 4 weeks then try again.

But now the new player experience is better. Before you didn't have acces to a full rune page from the beggining. There was a mastery sysyem as well, and you had acces to a single point of mastery per level. You literally could unlock a single rune per lvl. Also now they added 5 more rune pages that even if you cannot change, it still give you more options than your 2 rune pages that you can change. You buy aditional rune pages now. Before you had to buy the rune pages and each of the 30 runes that went into each page
