Tips at getting better at this game?

I'm really new to this game and have started playing it because my friends have recommended it to me. Most of my friends are Bronze I but are way better than me. When I did my 10 placement games in ranked I was placed into the rank Silver IV. I understand this rank isn't very good to some but Silver IV is better than any of my friends have. I noticed though that when I play I don't do too well and my friends are still better than me even though I have a higher rank. I feel like I don't deserve my rank. Is there any way I can get better to the point where I actually deserve my rank?

There are many ways to improve. The best ways are learning to cs (farm minions effectivly) and warding (controlling vision) while also paying attention to your minimap

If you can learn to last hit minions with autos or abilities you can improve greatly. At lot of people at lower Elos struggle to farm or underestimate it. Having 100 farm is more valuable then 1 kill. Warding and watching your minimap allows you to track your enemies so you can escape a bad fight or pick them off in key situations. These alone will make you a worthy silver if you can get a handle of them

I think it's better to say 15 CS = 1 kill.
