Banner of command

I find it funny that, despite this item actually being kind of OP now granting a minion magic damage immunity, it is still surprisingly underused. Any ideas about why? I frankly see no reason every mid laner shouldn't build this against an enemy AP mid laner cause the AP won't be able to stop theminion cause they won't be able to barely damage it almost guaranteeing that they will miss a cs and either take massive damage themselves or have guaranteed damage to their tower. And you thought malzahar and ziggs couldn't be harder of pushers.

Because 9/10 times: People forget that it is an item.

It's not effective to build on a mid laner because it takes a spot that should be used for a big end item.

It is most suited on the support, but the currently popular tank supports prefer Locket because the shield is stronger.

It did get built when AP tank Nautilus was a thing, he'd go for Banner and the support would go for Locket.

what is stopping the enemy ADC from just killing the minion? also the enemy mid laner can just kill all the other minions and then auto the banner empowered one to death with the help of the other minions. banner gives too little AP for most mid laners to care and the minion can and will still die to enemy minions. Ziggs and Malz have no use for it

I agree that its really an underrated item.

The reason why I feel its unpopular is because of the current support meta. Right now, tanky, high-utility supports are popular while AP supports are out of fashion. Most supports like (Thresh Alistar Bard Leona Braum TahmKench ) are going to build Locket over BoC unless the enemy team is very AP heavy.

people keep complaining about not having enough AP for midlaners to get. Considering that AP midlaners pretty much scale off raw damage, They don't need the utility. (And it's not like Banner has scaling in the item itself.)

That being said. I typically use it as a Support item. Helps give the support some split push power. (in an AFK sort of manner, while giving your team the legion aura.)

I guess the effect feels underwhelming?

"Buffs a minion to-" "Minion? Psssh...lol. Why would I ever want to buff one of those things?"

That's how I imagine it at least.

I have seen the effect though, it's hilarious and awesome.
