When is a good time to play rank?

MegaAlucard··3 votes·3,928 views

I have been playing this game for about a month in a half now and pretty much play at least 3 to 4 games a day, more on the weekends. I'm still trying to learn some technical and strategic things. I would like to know when would be a good time to start rank? The problem I have currently is consistency. I feel really comfortable with 3 champs at top/sup/adc, I need to jungle and mid more. Any recommendations on this? I'm level 39 btw if that even matters, Thanks!

Ask yourself a very important question: Do I want to have fun playing league of legends?

Yes? Avoid ranked like the plague. No? Enjoy ranked, I guess lol.

Play one lane with 5 champs atleast. Kno a secondary spot with atleast 5 champs. Dont focus on all lanes. Own more champs just in case you need to grab a champ for someone.

when you feel confident if all 10 of your mains/backups at once are banned. plus the enemy counters your further backups.

Never. Ranked is not enjoyable unless you have a friend or friends to play with. But if your extremely confident in your abilities, give it a try, it's just super stressful [for me at least].

Have at least 2 champions prepared for each lane in case one gets banned and be very comfortable with the champ in your favorite lane. I would recommend having a mastery 5 or more on that champion as well.

Otherwise your teammates might get discouraged about your mastery of the champion you are playing. i.e. your jungler might gank the mastery 7 mid more than you if you have m4.

If you wanna climb you focus on one role, not all 5. Maybe another one if you get your second role. But you really should focus on your first role. And on this first role u focus on 1 - 3 champions and try to master them. Everything else is just casual fun playing.

If you get autofilled, you dodge. If your champ gets banned, you dodge.

Me for example only plays Voli Jungle otp (otp means "one trick pony" which means I can only play this one role and this one champion).

I reset my Queue if it gets above 1:40 or if someone else dodged a game to ensure that I get my first role every time. It works. I get Jungle every game. And Voli is a very unpopular champ, so no one bans or picks him. Perfect to otp him.

^ I agree with this guy. I was a otp on Shen on my main and I went from low silver to high plat in less than 4 months.

Play one role and master it. Same with a champion. Master 1 champion. Now keeping a champ pool of 1-3 champs is good incase your otp champ gets banned, but Master 1 champion and move onto the next if you can afford to.

If your main focus is on climbing and not specifically just getting better all around at the game, focus mastering a champion that has high carry potential like Kayle or Yi, Zed(in low elo), Vayne. Someone who scales really well into the game and has a hard time being stopped.

Mastering one champion in ranked or just league in general is a good idea because you learn everything there is to know about your champion. When your power spikes are, when you're weak. Which match ups you win vs the ones you lose. You learn how to approach and deal with any situation if you master 1 champion. And that in of itself helps you in climbing.

Best time of time of day to play is early morning on school days around 6:30 and 10:30AM. All the stupid children are at school. I find I can at least have a conversation with the people online at that time and the games tend to be more even and well mannered even.

Also, pick 2-3 champions in a single role and spam them in that role until you're a master at that champion.

Iv been asking myself this same question. I find Friday nights to be HELL (dont play) Week days Iv done 9pm-4am and it spotty. Some says its good others its not.

12am-4am is better ish.
12am-2am I have found to be the sweet spot where I get less ragers.

This is because of my work schedule else I may do better in the 9am-12pm range not sure.

The only good time to play ranked was before season 7.
