Poppy...

Let me start with this. I'm bronze. So take everything I say with like at least 2 grains of salt.

I've been seeing a lot of Poppy in the past few days (and I play a lot of top lane) so this has not been fun for me. Out of all the tanks, I think she is the most OP at the moment, and let me tell you my bronzie reasoning.

  • SOOO much early damage with her Q
  • Her passive's shield lasts forever
  • If i'm playing Vi, Camille, or Kayn, I can't engage on her.
  • She's insanely tanky with few items needed
  • She has one of the best disengages in the game
  • She counters my favorite champ ATM. (Camille)

I just feel as if there is no way to counter her. Even picking a ranged top laner like Quinn or Urgot she can just E into me, Q and that's a huge chunk of my health! Also, I played a game before where there was a Poppy (Not that fed BTW) and a Cho'Gath who had 13 stacks. THE CHO'GATH WHO TOOK UP HALF MY SCREEN WAS EASIER TO KILL. I'm okay with Poppy being stupidly tanky, just nerf her dmg please? (Shen is also annoying >.>)

OP clearly hasn't played against Maokai and Cho, two of the strongest tanks right now. XD Poppy and Shen are rewarded by playing well and playing to there strengths, Poppy's being that she is good against engage like Camille (a known counter since Cam's release) and Renekton, and Shen being good defense with his W and R (good against Fiora and other auto attackers).

To play against Poppy you need to be able to play around her Passive (10 sec CD) and W (fighting when either one is down), and playing away from walls where she could get a guaranteed stun and double Q proc. As Camille- Bait out her W by fighting without using "Hookshot/Wall Dive" to start, (a lot of poppy's just pop W during fights without thinking, It's only 2.5 sec long with a 16 sec CD late game) then go in with "Hookshot/Wall Dive" when W down. Wall dive is a great engage tool but it is also good mid fight; especially for dodging a certain GIANT HAMMER that is super disengage. Camille Q is great for shreding not only squishies but also tanks, use it wisely and try not to auto reset to quickly or let it be eaten by Poppy Passive.

You'll get better at match-ups and how to play them with time. You're Bronze and that's OK, we all start out in the bottom. But only a few champs are OP and Poppy isn't one of them. She is just good against the type of champ you like, "divers". Hope that helped :)

Wow, thanks for the nice response to my salt, and the advice! I actually played against a Cho'Gath mid today and he wasn't building tank do i don't really know. (From what I remember he wasn't THAT hard to deal with) and I haven't played against a Maokai in forever lol. But again, thanks! <3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBkuNpgACH0 You're kidding right? Poppy 20% maximum health for 3 seconds. *One of the worst in the game.

The 3 champs you named all rely on dashes for engage and damage. You should see why poppy counters them easily, best advice is to learn a new champ just for poppy or counterbuild her with bork and life steal items. she can't do extended trades usually goes in for a stun and unloads and gets out with W so sustain and making the fight last longer than one rotation is the way to beat her

Wow, you are first person in months that complained about Poppy. Even after her latest buffs people consider her weak...

she is weak, right now, she should be one of the best tank , and she is just ok.
