A Note to Laners and Junglers

Disclaimer: I'm not the best player. I'm in Bronze but I made it to mid-Silver last season. This is more a note to people in those areas as I'm sure those in higher ELO have less problems with this.

I've recently been playing a lot of Warwick since the rework. I've been fairly successful in playing him in various ways between URF and the regular games I played to get used to him. He's not the most complex champ to play, but he is a champ that can help in securing kills for your laners with a decent ability to duel. Warwick is pretty much my favorite jungle since the rework, and I picked him up because I've felt the impact of the Aatrox changes which, I personally feel, are nerfs. Otherwise, I'm mostly an Ahri main with a fairly high success rate on her (60-70% win rate).

To Laners, A jungle like Warwick is there to help you secure a kill. His ult, fear, and dashes help quite a bit. However, when he pings, you have two options. One, ping him away to say you don't think it wise for them to gank (which is reasonable) or for you to prepare to engage the enemy laner. In my most recent game, the only person to help me was Sona. When I ganked top lane, Olaf only threw his axe, mid lane was always pushed to the tower, and the ADC had the reaction time of a corpse (he/she/they spent 5 seconds farming while I had Soraka and Lucian pinned down). All I can really ask is for you to be more aware of the situations you face. You really shouldn't spend a long time farming when you can be getting free kills and, subsequently, free farm. While kills aren't the most important thing in the game, killing definitely helps as it does give plenty of farm. When it's a 2v3 and Soraka is feared for a second, there's no reason a Quinn, Warwick, and Sona shouldn't be able to burst down Lucian fast enough with their abilities.

Another thing is to make sure to "build" correctly. A lot of people have set paths for their abilities. Don't. Toss that out the window. Sometimes changing your abilities around is more useful than keeping to a strict path. Olaf was facing Trundle top lane. While I haven't had too much experience with Olaf, I noticed something that felt off. Olaf wasn't attacking fast at all or healing much. Trundle, at the time, didn't have executioner's calling so there was only one thing I could assume: You're not building your built-in buff. He was building his Q. His axe throw. This could work if you were solely focusing on farming but Trundle's a bully. He'll close in and start smacking you. The best thing to do is build the buff and consistently heal in return. It would have been a decent bit of lane sustain and possibly one a few of those duels.

This is the big one. Stop blaming jungle for you being a dipshit. Brand, our midlaner, had Annie pushed to the tower for most of the game. However, he both failed to ward often and realize that Xin Zhao has a dash and a knock-up. When you're facing an Annie in lane and fighting someone who can help set her up really easily then it's best to play a little more reserved. Don't be pushed down mid lane all the time. I'm not saying it would have saved him all the time, but I feel it would have saved Brand a few deaths to just play safe. It's not a particularly complicated thing to do, either. Brand could have focused on farming which could have at least kept him afloat in lane.

To Junglers, Keep in mind, sometimes your laners just want to farm. If they say this, let them farm. If they wave you off a gank, back off. A laner who isn't confident in the gank is going to hesitate in helping you which will just increase the chance of you getting screwed over when going in. Not really a complex thing just be aware of your laners moods and tendencies as hard as this can be. On that note, if you do decide to go in, make sure your laner has mana if they're a caster and don't chase, say, a Brand under tower. I've played Ahri and had a jungle give my laner 4 free kills because they came when my ult was down and when I had no mana. When I waved them off, they insisted on diving Brand under tower anyway. If I can't even cast a fox-fire, I don't have enough mana to assist you in any way.

A Note to Everyone, Seriously, if they have Trundle, Xin Zhao, and Soraka, just buy Executioner's Calling. Just, please. Remember that item exists.
