We want old Gangplank back

Put comments on why you want him back, I want a great discussion on why we should as players of League of legends deserve to at least get what we want and not what the pros want

I'm not sure a great discussion is predicated on the idea that only a single viewpoint can contribute. Speaking for myself -- and as a non-pro player -- I vastly prefer new Gangplank.

New gp if way better wtf.

It's one of the few reworks that wasn't a complete failure.

GP is a top 3 rework. He is so much better than before.

They only changed his E... they made it an actual ability. Getting old Gangplank back now would just be nerfing the fuck out of him... and you know why? Because it's not Gangplank who changed. It's the items. Trinity force no longer grants Crit, and neither does IE. So now GP has no crit items that synergize with him. His old iteration simply wouldn't function now.

But I do want his old crit animation back. It was way cooler to see and hear the point-blank gunshot than the stupid sword swing he does now. And a revert or partial revert to the E nerf would be a nice.

As much as I miss older champion designs, Gangplanks 2015 VGU was very welcome change & is a much better iteration of the character.

Lore-wise, it was a huge step forward since he went from being a sterotypical Pirate to Fallen Pirate King. Huge Improvement there.

Gameplay-Wise, not much has changed. They took his Old E, [E: Raise Morale], and replaced it with an ability that allows him to show more skill expression. Sure this kills off Support Gangplank (His Old E gave your Allies bonus AD & Movespeed. Also if you type support in the Champion Shop, Gangplank & Heimerdinger would come up in that search), but he can still "Support" his team with his Ultimate & the Raise Morale upgrade. As a Toplaner (and sometimes a Midlaner), Gangplank can be a Solid Fighter if you invest time into him.

Closing note, one of the only things I missed from Gangplanks previous incarnation was his Ultimate Laughs. Was honestly one of my favorite things about him & its just not the same anymore.

Sounds fair. His ultimate, slows and damages anywhere on the map which is also instantly castable (His old ultimate didn't work like that). And his kit revolves around him playing more passively than he used to. He plays not to win lane, but rather not to lose lane. So all his damage he funnels goes into another laners fight.

It actually did work like that! The only difference was that previously the cannonballs were randomized, so sometimes the ultimate would destroy someone and sometimes it would barely tickle. It was still an instant global AoE damage + slow. Here's a link.

I added that on the basis that someone said earlier the only change was his E. It's true it slows, but like you said "barely a tickle" that it's of luck, but without that rng it gained the buff of coins. 3 different versions. I'd argue that it would be nice, but theres only one that you'd use which is Death's daughter making it do true damage and slowing by 60% instead of 30% one offers movement speed in the circle well the other is damage but less effective. He has value, but if qss were back to what it was I don't think he would be considered a good champion.

No, WE don't. You do.

I wish he wasn't a teamfighting champion based on taking a dump over other teamfighting champions in lane. People that complain about gangplank always fail to realize how shitty it feels to be able to duel no one at a certain point (especially if youre behind) unlike Irelia. Eventually you become just an ult then ghost barrel boy, preying your team will be useful or follow up
