@Riot Champion mastery

Hello Everyone I'm having really hard time tonight trying to get 7th mastery level on Ashe. In fact this is going to be my most frustrating week in this year. Mastery system has been introduced in patch 5.6. The idea was pretty simple: After every game you get some mastery points. If you get enough of them for a champion, you unlock a cool "emote". That was really great. For the first time players that already had all champions, got a new goal: getting 5th mastery on every champion. This feature also encouraged players to try out more champions instead of sticking to your favorite one. In season 6 appeared a new feature that was connected with the mastery system. The Hextech Chests. Grade system that previously was used only to determine how much points you get for a match, now has a new role. It rewards you with a Hextech Chest whenever you or your friend get an S grade. However, You can only get only 4 chests in a month. With such limit, You didn't have to worry about your grades. Let's get to the point. In patch 6.10 Riot has decided to give even bigger role to the grades. Now getting an S grade is absolutely necessary to hit 6th and 7th mastery. Even though mastery system for levels 1-5 and hextech chests system was OK, I believe that the way of getting mastery level 6 and 7 is a disaster. The program deciding if you did or didn't hit S is merciless. It doesn't care if you are making great calls, but it will surely increase your chance on getting an S if you smite a red buff in front of your ADC's face, since you have just increased a number representing your cs. And yes, I am an Ashe main, and the program wont say how game changing was my E I just casted to provide vision for my toplaner, or how my 3s stun on Zilean was important for a teamfight. But if I sacrifice my life for my friend then again, the program will say I’m throwing, and I can say goodbye to my S mastery. Grading system is basically telling me that I didn't do good enough, even though, this could be my best game in my life. The same grading system said I did great and I deserve S even if I snowballed just coz enemy team had an AFK. In my opinion grading system should give one grade for entire team, since entire team should be cooperative and try their best to destroy enemy nexus in a nice, friendly attitude. Of course this solution is not perfect, and would mess up the hextech chests system, but I think it's still better than awarding players for stealing "numbers" from each other. You said, you want to make every game in S6 feel unique, and you really did! I would love to see S7 slogan to be "We want to give players in every team the feeling of unity" Yes, yes I know. Getting S shouldn't be easy, getting S is not necessary and if I am a good player I'll get my last S sooner or later. But I think grading System doesn't really do it's job right. I am kinda fixated on Ashe, I want to hit 7th mastery as fast as possible, but I am simply, just not able to do it, even though I am pretty confident about my skill and experience on this champion. The mastery system ruined my 6.10 games to the point when I didn't even classify my games on won or lost. I classified them on S games and non-S games. I have just got an A+ grade, my friend got penta and got S. I think if I took the last kill of his penta, I would get my S. Grading system is really, really sad. Riot, do you have any plans about the grades and champion mastery?

TL;DR: Grading system works terrible, coz it's trying to convince you, you are performing worse than other players. Also you get higher ranks for stealing kills.

I wish they would release information on what it takes to get an S. I went 0/0/16 as a support Nami last night. 15 wards placed and 2 destroyed plus a vision ward placed. Got an A. Are you kidding me?! Got my adc first blood even. So many clutch heals/flash+heals. A freaking A. wtf?!?!

Why so many downvotes anyway?

The grading system is fair. It's based on how well you do compared to the average of that champion. It's already balanced for supports.

It's brutal on supports.

about a week ago I had game on thresh 3/0/20+ with around 90% kill participation. constant wards and multiple pinksand ended the game with an S-

Getting 7 on supports really hard.

At least on carries you can afk from team fights and just farm which result in good a good grade
