How would you feel if riot gave us all three?
Hello Summoners, Random noob here with a purposed question. Now before I state this question. I'd like to mention that in no way or form am I saying this idea is better than the original system riot had placed. I just noticed that a multiple layer rank system has worked for other games and would like to see what League players think of it in their game. Most likely this idea has already been offered seeing as it is a quite simple one to think of.
To begin what I am purposing is creating a rank system that allows for all three of the different ranking sytems. Solo/Duo, 5v5 teams, and lastly Dynamic. This system would be similar to when there was just Solo/Duo and 5v5 where when you quo up for these you are placed in a different ranking ladder for each.
Ranking Ladders
Solo/Duo: This system would remained unchanged. The only change I believe this system will have on this is que times but I will get back to that later. This mode is probably the best way for a summoner to show their individual skill and prove that they can carry others in game.
5v5 teams: Similar to Solo/Duo this rank ladder would remained unchanged beside que times. This mode is useful for teams who want to go pro and practice in a competitive mode with other 5 man teams. This can be useful for team who are also not high tier but compete in non endorsed League tournaments.
Dynamic: This system would be the one that takes the most change. Now contrary to popular belief there are those who like Dynamic and enjoy playing it. (Most of you would probably like to
them but you can't, in real life at least.) The first change to dynamic que would be to set a range of people that you need to que up. So like you can que up with 2-3, 2-5, 3--5. The biggest limit I suggest on this one is that you are not able to just que up with 4 people. That way you are not stuck with that one person who is left out. If it is just two people then they can communicate with each other even if the other three choose to keep to themselves.
Que Times
Solo/Duo: If this system is set in place I believe the que times will have a large effect. They will have a large decreased due to all of the players leaving the dynamic system and coming back to the original. Having this system would also bring back the players who left or just don't play rank due to the current system. This will increase the player pool for people to get in games. Or the time will actually increased due to players who have gotten use to the current system and enjoy playing this game as a team with there friends.
5v5 teams: This que time will most likely either be middle range times of all three que or fall toward the lower end. This will likely depend on how many players want to actually want to improve as a team against other teams.
Dynamic: By the reactions of everyone towards dynamic, this que should be the longest due to receiving so much hate. I doubt it will fall to the level of twisted treeline.
Conclusion
This systems allows for the entire player base to get what they want. If you don't like being teamed up against a full five man then go solo. Want to practice for going pro as a 5 man then 5v5 or you just want to play with a few friends go dynamic.
This system yes has it's flaws inconsistent que times along the ladders and lack of proper match making in dynamic. Although this are issues we are already experiencing. So how about we first give everyone what they want then while the people are happy fix the minor things. I'd like to hear people's opinions and ideas on what they think would be a good system.
TLTR: A new system that includes the old and new all on different ranking ladders.
