3v3 Ranked Flex experience so far

So today i completed my 10th placement match for ranked 3s. I have primarily played 3 for the past 3 seasons for its fast paced tempo. I was quite happy when they included the map for champion points a few months back, and even more so when i saw that ranked was coming to NA. Now that ranked flex has been put in place i eagerly put my time in for placement matches. After 10 games my overall experience was quite confusing. Some players had never played the map before. Some enjoyed using teleport smite Sona for lane. After 10 matches i would say i had 3 games where i had a confident team with "proper" champion selection. After placement I was disappointed in being placed in drum roll...Bronze V (silver 2 placement in 5v5). My first game in i get matched with teleport smite Sona yet again.

This overly toxic player stated he was born in 2009, and that he f**ked my mom (over and over) during champ select. Now i face a matchmaking penalty because I dodged the game. I'm the player being punished, not only for leaving the champ select,but for enjoying the 3v3 map to the point that this is the community that i am being paired with. I do plan on trying to climb up the elo ladder to reach more mature players, but I dont understand with my countless games (im not amazing, but i understand how each champ plays and I have decent map awareness) that i have to wade through this mess to play at a level of the players in norms 3v3.
