Nexus Blitz *NEEDS* MMR Matchmaking to Determine Actual Potential

SynergyFactor··1 votes·1,923 views

Basically ^ Title. Nexus Blitz will never be the mode it could be without MMR matchmaking. There are far too many Bronze players being placed into games with Diamond players, seriously mismatching teams and creating unfair games from the start, in a mode that already encourages snowballing.

Players are just going to be quickly turnt off by the mode due to the horrible players constantly placed onto our teams.

I, uh, was under the impression that it is based on mmr matchmaking. I mean, it's basically matched as badly as mmr matchmaker does, I can't tell the difference with whether it's used or not.

tl;dr matchmaking isn't going to help, teams are still going to be as unbalanced as it is.

Other than the recent bug which caused matchmaking to calculate incorrect MMRs, and as someone that's played the game literally since release, I can tell you matchmaking is in a pretty good place.

TL;DR MMR matchmaking would make this mode good.

All modes have an MMR. The system has to get used to the players and whats going on so it can sort them out you know. It's a brand new experimental mode, nothing is going to be perfect. It's the same way Flex started out, it was very off when the initial rankings went on, having massively different players on teams that shouldn't happen cause they didn't look at their solo ranks.

All modes have an MMR.

This is patently untrue. You don't seem to understand what MMR is if you think all modes have it. I see no indication that Riot has ever stated that MMR would be tracked for this queue, which is why I'm saying MMR matchmaking is necessary.

You're cute. All modes do have it as that's how the game is designed. This, like any mode, will build the MMR the more you play. I see a variety of ranks in other normal modes cause those players often have lower mmr there since they play ranked more often.

do you even know how matchmaking even works? every single mode has it's own MMR ladder. The mode is highly experimental, it's in the ALPHA stages not even BETA. Pretty sure they have matchmaking be way more lax than usual when it comes to pairing people since they want to make sure that queue times aren't terrible so people can actually play the game and actually give feedback on the mode itself. That is what they want right now, not "let's have matchmaking be the same as rank so that people take longer to get into the game and therefore limiting how much feedback we get for the mode!"

nearly 120 games. I'm gold 5 and I duo with an unranked player and we have had hotshotgg (diamond 2) in our game twice. I've had games with master tier players, the mmr is actually horrible. I've seen games with literal diamonds and bronzes in the same game and it ruins the experience for everyone. do placements, base it off ranked, i dont really care, just something to seperate players.
