So, it really is just me being a bronze baddie?
The video I linked is the same advice I've seen posted on youtube/ goolge about how to climb. Its pretty much just being shoved down peoples throats at this point. I've been playing ranked seriously for two seasons now (been playing league since the end of season 1). I lucked out and got to silver v after climbing from bronze 5 this season about a month or two ago, it seems like forever ago so I don't remember when I did. Then, what do you know, Riot decides its a great idea to update the game mid season. I lose my skill to carry hard and drop down to bronze 1. I tilt/ can't carry hard enough apparently, even though I'm better than I was before, until I'm bronze 3. My mmr was bad after dropping, now its decent enough that I lose and win the same amount of lp most of the time. My question is, how is it my fault that playing well and my team not listening to me when I make decisions and dying over and over result in me being this elo? Don't give me the same condescending "Oh you're just bad you should carry yourself out of bronze if you're not bad and better than your teammates". I've done that. And, up until the mid season update, I believed all you high elo players who could carry yourselves out of bronze easily, that it was actually my fault. Now, all my games turn into either my team snowballing the game away or their team, its about at an even win/ loss rate tbh. Let's tackle this logic here that you want me to follow and never question, even though 75% of the ranked community is dealing with this. Playing significantly better than your teammates, but not well enough to counter their mistakes, is a fair enough reason to keep you at an elo where no one is taking the game as seriously as you? I understand how someone who has had the opportunity to play against better players being so good they can easily win bronze/silver/gold games, but I have only had a short opportunity to do so. A friend of mine let me play his Plat V acc in ranked to prove that its me thats bad. I ended up going 4-1 in the games before I couldn't play on his account anymore. If I can play well at a much higher elo, what is it that I'm doing wrong that stops me from getting my own account to an elo where I can actually enjoy the game with at least more people than in bronze/silver playing at a better level and more seriously? For a background for myself, I actually am a competitive fighting game player who travels to offline events and can play 2 games at a level that would be considered lcs/ pro level. So , I know the amount of work it takes to improve at a game and beat my opponent. But carrying people who do not have that same drive/ skill level is stressful tbh. I want so badly to compete at this game and win vs people who want to beat me just as badly. Please (even though I know for a fact that I'll get the same hate every other bronze player gets) I'm serious about this game and want to know what the reason is I'm suffering through this and not climbing to a point where I can enjoy this game at its highest level of play (or just below in the diamond/master/challenger ranks) vs people who care enough about this game to get there. Sorry this post turned into an extra long rant/essay. I just really needed to vent my frustrations somewhere, or I was going to explode. Thanks for reading if you cared enough to make it all the way through.
Sincerely, One Salty, Ultra Competitive Mofo
Edit: I forgot to mention that I posted the video because I don't feel that these points he made (that most people make about climbing from low elo) apply to me. Except for the toxic one. I can be pretty toxic tbh. But I've recently started muting people and never type anymore. I understand that I am not the perfect player, and that its ridiculous to expect my teammates to be. But I don't think its unfair to consider myself better if I win my lane or AT LEAST don't feed and try my best to help my teammates. I can feed from time to time, I'm not a god, and by time to time I mean like once in every 20-25 games. But I'll see someone go 5-15 in at least 15-20 of those games, and it can be pretty draining to carry that after dropping from silver.
