Yay! Time to waste half my life waiting for a Support in TB...

I started playing League around the time season 4 started, but I've seen videos of the previous seasons. And over time I've seen a lot more hatred to a role that I like to play and I believe needs to be re-worked Support. The role Supports have in League. In the recent patches Riot has been focusing on the jungle and its changes, how ever that's not my focus. Recently due to buff changes dragon is more important meaning top lane is an island and bot is crucial for a win. (Most cases anyways). Bot lanes are comprised of a marksman and a... what is it called? Oh yea, supporting. A good bot lane requires a few things, words, wards and the adaptability of the support. In my eyes from play as a support main for the later bit of Season 4 supporting is a struggle especially when most teams just go for duo ADC or have someone like a Nidalee (who builds full ap) or a "support" XinZhao (who builds full on ad). Meaning the champions made for the role, our healers, tanks, and CC queens who can't do much damage are usually screwed. It also doesn't help that no one typically ever builds the support items. Then there is vision problems, this isn't really that bad unless your team is doing bad or they have a good early ganker like LeeSin , or a mobile mid like Katarina . I typically never use aitem 2049 , I just buy the item 2044 . The last to my argument is words. "There are no words for how bad of an adc you are". "There are no wards for how bad of support you are." Communication is a huge part of league, how ever its hard to balance out a game when you have people who refuse to cooperate or communicate. It's really hard to adapt to a strangers play style, so it's better to play League with friends who have some form of verbal communication. I guess I rambled on for a bit, The conclusion to my argument is that Support is a very unloved role by players, so the meta is a lot more worse with weird not-supports. I believe riot should show some more love to the role and balance/nerf it like their doing to the jungle, maybe add a new mechanic to the game for supports.

The problem is that good support mains don't want to play Teambuilder.

A good support will look at what the ADC picks and pick accordingly. They'll ask what the ADC wants, or pick based on what they have experienced works best. Neither of those are an option in Teambuilder, but are in Blind and Draft mode. It's not unheard of in these modes to have multiple people want support, which makes me all the more convinced that the problem is limited to Teambuilder.

You just said you want to nerf supports because people pick Xin.

I think I should clarify, I think that Riot needs to re-work the Support role in bot lane a bit, maybe add a nerf if a support is not in the bot lane. As we've seen with Kalsita Riot really wants to make it so that champions are only played in the lanes they were made for. While yes Blind and Draft don't have as much as a big problem I just think sometimes that supports just go unrewarded. They work so hard to try to carry an ADC but they get minimal gold in return and usually no thanks (Thanks to all ADC's who aren't complete monsters lol). And one more thing for supports its really hard to find a good build with a support without building full ap, ad or even tanky. While people like Leona or Naut benefit from these items supports that actually do damage are more popular. I would also suggest more pings be added or a better form of communication, but I guess it adds a challenge to adapt and build experience for a new random adc each game. summoner 31 item 2054 item 2052 item 2010
