Getting hextech annie will cost you over $300

So I decided to get 15000 rp and bought 25 chests every day to see if I would get hextech annie.

I didnt even get halfway.

For every 25 (daily limit), I only got one gemstone. That means for $100, I only got 4 gemstones.

If you're looking to get hextech annie, you'll be looking to spend $250-350 (sometimes the 25 chests didn't have any gemstones at all)

In my opinion, not even the random skin makes up for this fact unless you have a lot of skins you can just disenchant for other newer skins.

So TL;DR - be prepared to spend LOTS of money for this skin. IMO $100 should have been enough. This is ridiculous riot.

I used money for the sake of statistical reference. Good luck trying to replicate 100 boxes. (That's not even including the free ones I got off of S rank games)

The point was to stop people from spending money on the system if they were hoping to get it purely through money.

If I can't even get it through 100 bought chests, what are your odds to get it without it? Maybe you're just really really really lucky, but as far as I'm concerned this skin is not even worth the effort or investment, and thats what I want people to know.

Don't know whether troll or clueless. I can care less about the money its about the broken chances and the system that promotes people to buy chests for high prices which give them barely anything in return (As you may have noticed I also made a reference to the skin shard/permanent skin transition as well)

If it wasnt meant to funnel money to, then it wouldnt have bundles. Herp Derp.

It's worse because he was actually buying something else that has the occasional side effect of giving a bonus and acting like he wasn't actually buying the first thing in order to make the numbers sound huge.

It's like if you went to a restaurant that gives out those 10 punch visit cards that earn you a free prize (a meal or a dessert or something) after 10 visits and then tried to act like the free prize 'cost' the full price of those 10 visits.

Noone charged you $300 for a desert. You bought 10 $30 meals that each were of reasonable price for what you were buying at the time and as a reward for your continued patronage they gave you a free bonus.

Yeah except the boxes don't even give you a permanent skin, only a portion of a skin (if that) and then you have to disenchant/enchant to actually obtain it. At least at a restaurant I get my money's worth and know what I'm getting - which is my point with just buying skins outright.

Stick to buying meals (the actual skins) - don't take your chances on this system.

You're mostly supposed to be using crafting with the boxes you earn and when you have tiny bits of 200 rp or something left over. Ofc they give a bulk discount in case you're really into it, but that's not the point of the system.

There are plenty of great skins available and I and many people I know have already rolled ones they like just from the free ones at the start and a couple of earned chests from s ranks. The only thing you seem to be tunneling on is hextech annie - which is supposed to be hard to be a reward for using the system for a long time, a reward for sticking around and something to aspire to. Something to see someone else have a few months or years down the line and go wow that person really put a lot of time and effort into grinding s ranks on many champions or has the luck of the gods.

Idk how the hell you got 'they want you to spam buy them' from a restriction in daily purchases specifically designed to prevent you from spam buying them when it's clearly in place to limit the urge to drop hundreds of dollars at a clip to try and take a special reward by force.

I'm pretty sure Riot stated somewhere that there's a 5% chance of a gem dropping from a chest. Meaning on average, 1 out of 20 chests will have a gemstone. So for 10 of them, you'll need on average 200 chests.

I'm assuming you are buying two sets of 11 @ 3900 RP and an additional 3 boxes @ 585 RP? Then on the 4th day you only had enough for 8 more boxes? Or did you just go 22 boxes the first three days so that you could afford a set of 11 on the fourth day along with 7 other boxes? I guess it's either 83 or 84 boxes regardless which route you went with the 15000 RP.

So if you have 4 gems out of 80 boxes, you're sitting at the average Riot posted.

If you actually did 100 boxes... you had to spend more than $100.

I did spend a little extra RP I had laying around for another 11 box.

In total I got 95 boxes, not including the ones I earned playing games, so I rounded it to 100.

Forget that last one, I bought the 975 bundle after that (5 boxes + 1 key) so in total I would get 27 boxes a day. I did that for 3 days then on the fourth day I bought 22 more. Not including the keys I used to open the free boxes I got off of S rank

But yeah.

Gotcha. So you did 16600 RP for 103 boxes with only 4 gems instead of 5. People did say this would be one of those "Pray to the RNGesus" things, though your results are fairly close to what Riot stated.

Right. Technically by rules of compounding percentages I should have came up with, minimum, 5 if not more. But yes, I suppose 4 is pretty close to the percentage riot gave out. Nonetheless, hopefully it discourages people from buying the boxes outright and just playing the game for em - or fixing the percentages so that it occurs at a reasonable rate.

Eh, the average is 5. Unfortunately there is no minimum. >.< Seriously you could have gotten zero shards and some other lucky fool nabs 10 in a 100.

Considering I thought Hextech Annie to only be a 1350 value, I wouldn't suggest anyone farming boxes for her. And this is coming from someone with 6 Annie Skins (Panda/FrankenTibbers/Sweetheart/Red Riding/Reverse/Frostfire).

I have opened 185 chests and opened only 2 gems so far and they came within the first 50 chests or so. Haven't seen one since.

If we wanted to look at what the OP is trying to state, is that the value of the skin is not equal to what it is in game. At most hextech annie should be a 25$ skin (same as DJ Sona etc.) however, since the only way to get her is via the boxes, so if you want to spend RP to get her, you have to buy the boxes, the math says that the skin's value becomes somewhere around $200 which is RIDICULOUS. Now, getting it randomly with your free boxes is awesome, and that's part of their intended purpose I believe is 'If you get lucky while opening your limited per season boxes you'll get this neat annie skin' and that's sick, but for people willing to drop money on League to get this skin, having to drop $200 for that skin and still possibly not getting it is just fucked up Riot.

Hopefully you got something cool for that. I am not even after Annie skin. Don't play her nor like the champ. But get playing open the box is fun cause I get other things I like and wanted. But need keys and that'd like impossible almost.

Unfortunately. And I did get some cool stuff out of it, mostly legacy skins I couldnt otherwise have gotten like unmasked kayle, but its mostly skins that you look at and never consider until you actually have a chance to get it for free.

I got some cool things. A ezreal legacy skin and his icon and the background. I got a thresh blood moon skin and I discarded most of the rest of what I got. I tested out the 're roll of! 3 champ to c what happens and that didn't go well. I put in vi which I wanted and 2 others I owned abd got jayce and I Don't like him. But oh well.

I didn't know you could get legacy skins. By any rare chance can you get Championship Riven? I'm still pissed as hell that Riot made every other championship skin repeatable but that single one that I missed.

I read somewhere that those were one of the skins not included in the roll.
