yo ive made a smurf and i currently dont own any champ besides the ones from weekly Rotation

so my question is if u buy for example graves now, i should only get Skin shards for this Champion right? or is it possible that i get shards for Champion i dont even own

You can get shards for any content available, even if you don't own the champion. The free chest they give you though should have only things that you can use once you unlock.
