Riot and Mordekaiser

This message is meant for Riot, but I want the whole community to read this too.

First of all, I do not main Mordekaiser and I do not own any of his skins. However, I believe there are many things you should do before making any further changes towards Mordekaiser. So I made a list of things you should do if you want to avoid any unnecessary damages.

  1. Allow players to have a free refund for all the mordekaiser skins and possibly the champion itself. This is extremely vital as if you do not refund the skins, the league community will start to lose faith towards Riot company. Losing reputation, no matter how big the company can be, means losing players and potential new players. And at the same time, it may convince people to stop buying skins, which I assume is the main source of the company's income.

  2. Change Mordekaiser completely. Even though this approach will upset the community, including me, but if you leave Mordekaiser in his current state, with his new title, kit, and lore, he will have two different identity that doesn't agree with each other. And it seems like you're leaning towards the ghostly identity, which means you should be prepared to remove anything metallic on him in the next VU. If you do not remove anything metallic by the time his VU comes, he will be the most lore confusing champion, and that is enough to frustrate players to not play Mordekaiser. And if players do not play Mordekaiser, then that means all of the effort for changing Mordekaiser will go to waste. In other words, Mordekaiser rework will be known as an even greater failure than he already is.

  3. Listen and communicate with the community after all changes towards to Mordekaiser are done. I'm serious about this. Yes the community isn't great, but that makes you no better if you behave the same as the community by ignoring and denying facts. There are many many job application who appreciates honesty rather than not admitting mistakes. You can easily calm more than half of the community by simply saying "We are disappointed that our efforts in Mordekaiser rework was not successful, but we will continue to work on him until we can make him enjoyable to play with." Admitting a mistake is not a weakness, but a strength, never be afraid to admit your own mistakes and be willingly to learn from them.

I realize that this might be a lot to ask for, but Mordekaiser is one of the few LoL champions that represents as a symbol. Whenever people think about LoL, they'd think about Katarina, Ryze, Teemo, Kayle, and of course, Mordekaiser. Unlike Karma and Trundle, Mordekaiser is extremely popular for who he was, and forcing him to undergo changes will cause far more damage than Karma and Trundle combined. But the suggestions I've posted will reduce the damage in the most efficient manner.

I will not quit LoL, but I am losing my trust towards you as a customer who doesn't even play Morde.
