Hi, I've seen many high elo players go 2-8 etc. but are still placed in high/low platinum. Do you guys know how the placement system work? cause I went 9-1 in my placements last season and went to Silver V. Do you get placed to high rank if you have good kdr and more wins than loses or what?

It's not a hard reset. It's a soft reset. So your placement is based both off of your MMR from the past season plus the results of your placement games. High MMR players, even if they lose most of their placement games will still have a high MMR and thus will get placed in higher leagues. Low MMR players, even if they win all of their placement games, still have low MMR and thus will get placed in bronze/silver.
