RIOT PLEASE ALLOW AUTO FILL TO BE OPTIONAL

Giantpanzer··2 votes·1,122 views

I am incredibly frustrated with auto fill, I want to be able to play mid when I que for it. No one cares about longer que times if they are allowed to stop auto fill or even a secondary role. This has been a problem for YEARS and it ruins my game experience, I que for mid top to get the highest chance for mid only to get top. Please make an optional way for players to accept horrible que times in exchange for the position they want. I don't want to have to play blind pick to battle for my position.

The truth of the matter is Autofill is a relatively low occurence thing.

If autofill would be optional, then what would be the point of having at all? You're assuming not everyone and their mother would have it off. I'm willing to bet, if it was optional, most people would have it off. Autofill exists to solve a problem and it isn't as problematic as you may think. I'm not even making this up.

Anyway, next season this shouldn't be an "issue" for you.

If you count autofill as also meaning secondary role... then accoding to those numbers, it still gets hit 15% of the time. thats 1 in 7 games. that means 1 out of every 7 games, is an almost guaranteed loss at higher MMR.

people should be given the option to not be in a guaranteed loss game.

If you count autofill as also meaning secondary role...

But it isn't. Secondary role is one thing and autofill is another. If you put X as your secondary, even though you don't play that role, you might was well let it be "autofill" instead. That's a problem on you, not the system.

Remember back in earlier season when you couldn't even pick what roles you play the most? I remember. Besides, in this system you get your primary role close to 90% of the time. In other words, 1 out of 10 games will be a "off-role" game. Better than "no man's land".

You literally ignored my entire point about that. If autofill was optional the most people would probably have it off. Basically, you'd extended queue times, especially if your role was popular. That or you'd queue up as "fill" and then fight for your role in the lobby. ######Doesn't that sound like what happened in earlier season?

##"If everyone is special, no one is".

remember in the more recent season, when you could JUST PICK YOUR ROLE??

yeah, cause i do. thats what I want again. its not complicated.

^ Exactly, when higher skill is involved, the necessity to be in your best lane is incredibly important.

My point is that auto fill has no point other than reducing que times which is a relatively non issue, if you allow people to accept longer que times then they get longer que times if they don't then they get auto filled. The problem with auto fill is when it occurs at all, it is a huge hindrance to a team, I can play every role in the game BUT I can not play those roles nearly as well as my main role mid. And some people one trick making them far worse at anything besides what they main making the auto fill even more detrimental to those players who play one champ not to mention any other lanes. Even after being a top main and using it as my secondary role, fighting against players who main a role that I don't makes them is a huge disadvantage that causes negative win rate causing a loss of LP. The entire reason I made this thread is because auto fill has been very common to me recently. I wrote this thread after TWO auto fill games in a row, which caused me to become incredibly frustrated and wonder why auto fill still ruins my league experience. And yes I lost both after losing lane and the jungle in the second game.

I am playing this game to play the position I want to play I shouldn't be forced to play a role i'm bad at or even don't enjoy. And if it really isn't a very common problem then removing it would not cause a very large increase in que times. At most it would increase que times 20 percent on a bad day a great trade off if one can play what they want to.

that is COMPLETELY false

first off.. u CAN't get autofilled twice in a row... the system gives u autofill protection

My point is that auto fill has no point other than reducing que times which is a relatively non issue

BULLSHIT and if u did an OUNCE of research into the subject u would realize that EVERY single support or "fill" secondary with literally NEVER get their primary role EVER.

in feb 2016 i was given support ( my secondary role) in RANKED 30 TIMES IN A ROW before i decided to take it off.

if u dont believe me.. check my match history

here is the link... go scroll down to feb 2016 https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/NA1/207008136

that is LITERALLY RUINING THE GAME.

so people like me COMPLETELY removed "support" or "fill" as an option. and encouraged everyone else to do so as well.. this in turn skyrocketed que time as instead of having "

support mains and support secondaries and fill secondaries all winning to support. u now cut out like 85% of the player were were originally WILLING to support but now flat out REFUSE to play support because they dont want it "every single game" and actually want to play their main role.

also this make que time absolutely skyrocket into the 5-10 min mark for even silver and bronze and well over a half hour into higher elos

"auto-fill" is GODSEND.. because it is the ONLY thing that allows "role selection to actually FUNCTION".

and it allows me to play my main role and my secondary role of support, and if i get my main role and someone CAN'T support? i offer to swap with them.. and u know what... i an usually not the ONLY person who offers to swap in these extremely rare situations.

so cut the bullcrap about saying "lower que times" is the "only" thing auto-fill did.

auto-fill is what MAKES position select even FUNCTION.. without it.. we would be back to "call order" and the entire "position select" would fall apart

Adding off of Febos' point, autofill is generally low occurrence, and the only reason why it exists is that so many people want to play mid, adc, etc. that there aren't enough players willing to play the other roles, and no-one wants to play a game with two midlaners and three adc's.

My problem isn't how little it happens it is that is happens. In other games say World of Warcraft you can que for what ever position you want and get it, if you want reduced que times they you can que for multiple roles, but if you want to DPS and don't care about que times then you are allowed unlike League where you are forced to play support even though you don't own a support character.
