I want to toss my two sense in on this debate. I have been playing league for about 6 months. I disagree that the games are in any way balanced. the point of the game is to be placed with ppl that are your equal as best it can be, so you can feel challenged, but also feel like you have a chance at winning. I have gone through so many games where the opponent stomps our team like no other, and I have had many games where we steam role them. I have very few games that I feel we are equally matched or even in the same ball park. To point out when u get steam rolled or you are the roller your IP awarded is about the same, so what does this do for anyone when all u do is grind out matches but learn nothing because the people u play against are so much better or worse than u.
To comment on if you want a more balanced system play ranked that is simply not true, Rank is worse than norms ( at least in bronze ). Now i am stuck in bronze 5 because I have no friends that play the game, and I can't find decent people to play with. I understand my personal skill has a lot to do with it, but when u invest the time i have into learning how to play the game correctly with NO help from anyone it gets very frustrating when you watch Q grinders die over and over again and then u die trying to support them so they don't throw the game for u which brings me to my next point that which is you get put with people that can't even execute basic game knowledge, and trail in 1 by 1 getting slaughtered showing no game knowledge of priority targeting or anything.
i don't think someone that just hits 30 should be able to play ranked in fact, I think ranked should be reserved for people that have at least a mastery 6 on their champ, so you know they have a solid understanding of how to play their champ. I can't tell you how many times i watched people practice their champs in a ranked game. You can just see it they don't have the knowledge or reaction time to take advantage of a good opportunity..
I would imagine that riot has enough statistical data on how good people are to place them fairly don't u agree?
the question being posed is why isn't this fixed yet. Riot work for us, and I don't see a down side to fixing this MAJOR issue. It will only lead to a happier player base, and a feeling of fairness when being placed. I love playing with people that understand the game because you move as one, and it is very poetic.
As a final note: If you think the match making system is fair in ranked or norms then u have not been apart of a 15+ game loosing streak where u watch everyone around u basically go "OOo Shiny" and zone out.
