As a long time Kog player I didn't even expect the revert, I understand the changes but I'm sad.

I been playing Kog for a long time, and I liked his old kit too so I guess it isn't that bad. When they updated him I completely fell more in love and this season he's my most played champion by far, and has been a constant pick of mine since S2-3. I guess I'm in love with the thematic more than the gameplay but I really didn't expect Riot to revert him.. well just his W. Hope they remove the mana cost again, but I guess we'll see.

Is this the first Riot has reverted something like this level? His W was the core part of his kit, and it seems that despite it hitting the mark thematically the game suffered too much from it.

Okay, I had to do some digging to find the part where they are reverting Kog. But is seems as if they are only reverting the W changes and not his ult Changes. Which is going to piss off the people who loved his AP build. (No idea what Riot had against that build)

I could imagine that his older kit, might be a bit stronger now, with the recent item changes. Tri force was a core item on him before the rework. But since the, the removed the crit in lieu for more AS and an extra 10% CDR. Kog'maw is going to like that change.

Yeah. Basically at the end of everything they removed AP Kog.

"Core of his kit"

You mean every last bit of his power budget was shoved into that one ability?

Honestly, falling in love with that shit makes one a shit lover.

The reworked kog is easily one of the dumbest things to have hit league in terms of champ reworks. They literally shoved all the power right into one basic ability.

wanted this revert since they updated him i'm so glad he was one of my most played champs before the update but then he was just boring af to play disappointed that they dont revert the ult though i kind of hate it tbh it only kills when you need like 1 auto anyways

Honestly IMO even when they revert the changes, Kog'maw will still be a huge problem. I think the double AS cap was great and it definitely gave him a really unique niche instead of just being a hyper carry with a really bland kit.

The problem is really Hurricane+Rageblade just being broken. Not even on just Kog, Kayle is broken with it too, Trist also used it for a bit.

i made a post about this and suggested a good fix for his braindead gameplay and too strong midgame but for some reason people didnt get it

I dont even play kog and im extremely upset about the revert, as kog 5.0 AS is extremely fitting for him and one of the more interesting champ concepts they have going for them.

I hated the rework. Attacking fast without being able to kite isn't an interesting mechanic. Plus, they killed the most fun part of Kog, which was building him AP.

Honestly, I think it would be great if Riot decided to try some experimenting with the extreme opposite of what they did with the remake. Or in other words, focus Kog totally on the artillery gameplay.

It wouldn't be hard to do, either. If they turned his W into an OnNextHit modifier that gave bonus attack range and some %HP damage on his next basic attack that would open up a TON of kit power to spread around elsewhere. That would totally kill AD Kog, but Jinx already made him mostly irrelevant years ago.
