Miss Fortune ap ratios buff? (viability)

is it possible that Miss Fortunes ap ratios could be buffed? This would enable her to build defensive items like zhonyas /banshees veil without being punished as badly, similar to Kai'sa/Varus. Her core would still be lethality item , black cleaver , last whisper but you can finish the build off in more ways. A choice of gun blade would be really nice as well for being dove. I realize that she can already take defensive boots very easily. Thoughts?
