How is it that I won 8/10 games and still placed in bronze 5!!!! that's a load of crap. can someone explain to me how placement works. whats the point in placement games if i'm getting ranked at the bottom regardless.

What ethnicity are you? I heard that plays a HUGE role in placement decisions...
You failed.... the first 2 months of ranked are a noob trap where just about everyone gets placed into bronze. Then instead of playing against other bronze players, you play against people with your similar MMR, so plats/diamonds/whatever you were at before you seeded. You are simply expected to win. If you win you will get moved up in ranks fast, if you loose a bunch you will forever be trapped in ELO hell.
So when you seed at the beginnning there are so many other people seeding you have to get placed lower in the pack below all the golds and silvers that went 6/10 and got put into bronze.
To avoid this you need to wait until the ranked population spreads out and you get seeded into your proper rank based on your MMR.
Since you seeded though you NEED to play, if you let your rank sit idle it's ELO hell for you.
