Ornn W/R discussion

So I recently bought Ornn, which i was originally hesitant on buying due the low w/r, and I was pleasantly surprised by how hard I could carry with him. I've only played a few games with him, but so far I've managed to not only be able to win lane but also solo kill many lane bullies such as kled, darius, and illaoi. I personally think that he's in a good spot right now and the only problems with him is that people aren't playing smart, using his kit correctly, or teammates are buying upgrades way too soon. When I played Ornn, I usually went mid lane as soon as I got ult just due to how strong it is, the ability to start the ult Ram to spawn it on top of them instantly in my mind is just too good, and the second cast I think is easily done so I don't understand how people find it difficult. I think Ornn is really good with CC heavy comps but he doesn't need them. He ganks mid lane very well and getting ganks he's amazing at setting them up. In jg I've played fewer games but he seems just as strong. I just want to know what other's thoughts and opinions are on Ornn and why he might seem to be doing so poorly.

I think Ornn needs some QoL changes and nothing else. Stuff like the limiting upgrades to Level 13 and beyond will help a ton. The buffs made to him have helped and he seems decent to me. He just needs some polishing is all.

Ornn: --Uses slightly too much mana. --Suggested items need streamlining to make it easier to pick essential items without having to resort to the whole buy window. Right now the build tree is all over the place. This is more for convenience than anything. --4 seconds to forge an item is a bit too long. Have it vary based on cost. 2 for starting stuff and 4 for end products (example: long sword = 2, then vampiric scepter = 3, then Bloodthirster = 4 --Mechanics behind Q and E need polishing. His E has farther range than his Q does, which makes sense, but the end effect of his Q needs a little more "oomph" besides a mundane pillar. Maybe change it to a spike instead, that way you still get the utility of a hardpoint for his E dash, and you can poke better with it. --His R needs a little more speed, both on cast and after the redirect.

".. dont play ornn correctly..."

poor post, until you detail what you believe is the "correct" way to play him. you only mentioned ult usage

If I must elaborate, I meant that he seems to feel like a squishy tank in lane, were to be more specific is that he seems very squishy but he offers lots of cc. Often times I find that he takes a lot of dmg during ganks, it feels like too much. While playing him I was very careful to play around cool downs and very smart about when to go in and when to get out. With most "braindead" tanks, you can take some damage but after a while you get your health back. Ornn specifically is a tank that has poor to mediocre sustain due balance his passive shopping. I think people are playing him in lane as a big beefcake whereas they should think of him more so in lane as a cc slab of meat. He takes dmg so you have to be careful as he's not forgiving, but by playing lane as a squishy and trading around cool downs he does fairly well dmg wise. Tl:dr In lane he has bad sustain so I think people take too much dmg thinking as a tank he can take it and sustain/shield through it

The correct way to play Ornn is to have good map sense, play him jungle, and collect Elo.
