New Epic skins: Blood Moon Aatrox, Sivir, and Pyke | League of Legends

So the majority of us are against the $150 skins available throughout the season. However, I do want to start up a buyer's guide for those who ARE interested in buying one of these very pretigious skins. I myself am interested in Ahri, which is why I am here.

How much are Prestige Points worth and when will be the best time to buy them? Let's keep track of their values so we can decipher when your money is maximized

Rounded to the nearest whole RP,

Blood Moon Capsules include 1 Epic + 2 skin shards Blood Moon (1 Capsule) + 4 PP 750RP - 188RP per PP Blood Moon (Gemstone) + 20PP 1750 - 88 per PP Blood Moon (10 Capsules) + 40PP 6750 - 169RP per PP

Masterwork Chests include 1 skin/ward shard or emote Masterwork (1 Chest) + 1 PP 225RP - 225RP per PP Masterwork (5 Chests) + 6PP 1125 - 188RP per PP Masterwork (11 Chests) + 13PP 2250 - 174 per PP

Furry Capsules include 3 Skin Shards 975RP+ Furry (1 Capsule) + 4 PP 750RP - 188RP per PP Furry (Gemstone) + 25PP 4750 - 190 per PP Furry (10 Capsules) + 40PP 7500 - 188RP per PP

Money maximized when buying_ one-time purchase_ gemstone bundles Currently for the furry capsules, the only benefit to buying the 7500 bundle is the gaurenteed Doggie Bag

I would recommend NOT buying into this system AT ALL. The system is still very new, and if there is no income generated from it, then they will be forced to rethink how it functions and how they price it. So please don't consider buying prestige points at all. We are at the moment where the system is the most vulnerable - the first item launched, so item two is where they start to gauge how well it operates since they can establish patterns - so leverage your voice with your money and let them know it's not ok to engage in this kind of scammy system.

Agreed. I REALLY wanted the aatrox one. And i have the money. But i wont until they make is NOT only money

Yea definitely expecting events to come out soon. It's certainly frustrating to come out with Ahri and Aatrox with no signs of an event any time soon...hopefully cats and dogs

I'm sure there will be an Event then since there is a lot of Cats vs Dogs content (and kind of already said it was an event), but we don't know if that is when they will have the news on Prestige Points or not.

Turns out the cats and dogs event it bundling prestige points as well. Again, for very little comparative value, making the Prestige Skins still cost $100+

Yea we have until January 31, 2020 to buy any of these skins that are coming out so I definitely feel like Riot is going to think of more ways to make things more fair to the community. They almost definitely won't consider any refunds for the prestige point bundles we buy now. I completely agree with you and am simply trying to use this board to track what's going on with Prestige Points.

They've already confirmed there will be other ways to get the points, we just have to wait a bit longer.

They have, but there was also talk that you wouldn't be able to get enough to get a skin with the "other options," which still means you'd have to purchase points.

I've seen players say such, but the tweets I've read from Riot don't actually go into detail. So I'd wait before jumping to conclusions.

Fair enough. Still though, I think this early in the life of the prestige point system is where money speaks the loudest, and if people opt to not buy into now, it will prove to be a bad investment for Riot.

Well sometimes that works, but with the way Riot has been they already planned out and have most prestige skins ready to go. So unfortunately, it doesn't feel like much will change in that aspect yet.

Maybe they will lower the cost of them slightly, but they do really seem set on pushing the prestige store / point system. So I don't feel that's going anywhere as there's only two, and soon to be 3 items within it for this year (so far)

There was similar push back on Chromas at first. It wasn't until Riot lowered the price, allowed them to be purchased separately (rather than a bundle), and improved the quality that they got some more acceptance.

With Prestige Points, making any purchase count towards Prestige Points would go a long way to making the system feel less abusive. As it is, the connection to loot boxes means that this will only become less and less valuable for customers as time goes on.

Well that was also the same feeling people had for gemstones, and nothing has really changed there. They still plan to make those skins, and gemstones still have a very low % of dropping from loot (which they can be gotten by buying or for free in their case but still isn't the greatest design)

Yeah, but what makes gemstones less venomous is the fact that you have the chance to get them in any loot box, as well as the fact that you don't actually have to make money purchases to obtain them (since several are also available through the Emporiums). Plus, gemstones never disappear, unlike these prestige points, which will vanish when the new year arrives.

So you're buying a TEMPORARY currency on top of the already horrible paywalls involved. The system as a whole is wretched.

Hmm so if they didn't remove the points, would it be better?

Essentially it is currently set like a year long event when you look at it the way it is (even thou you buy these points vs getting them for free like most events).

I would take some of the sting off, because at least then you could use them next year, and could save up your points you earn through the "other methods" like you can gemstones.

Though to me I don't know if that'd be much better, as then you're having to put them towards a different set of skins since they remove them each year as well.

It would and it wouldn't. Even though the skins would rotate, at least your currency isn't disappearing, when in reality that's what you are paying for to start with.

I think Riot did end up increasing the drop rate of Gemstones, or added bad luck protection at the least.

Yeah the bad luck protection increased a bit of how you get loot related items. It's still not perfect either though.

Yea like events similar to the Odyssey event. I ceratinly hope for their Hard Missions they're planning on awarding us 10-50 prestige points for completing them...

They're a business, they aren't gonna let you earn 100 without paying.

I doubt that, not with the amount of feedback they have had. It should be something fairly reasonable.
