[Teemo] Thanks for trying at least

I've been playing League since before the start of Season 1 (I remember Leona was the newest champion). I play OTP Teemo, and have been very off and on about playing, skipping entire seasons at times and not playing at all. I've unfortunately had a couple different accounts since then, people don't really like Teemo players in general and really like to blame all their problems on them, even if they are doing good. For a while there with item changes, Teemo was really good - overpowered and obnoxious. Nerfing him back was completely acceptable and understandable, it was just unfair how punishing he was.

Since then (about Season 3 or 4, whenever they changed jungle items that Teemo took advantage of), Teemo has been almost completely untouched. 4.3 decimated his mushrooms, removing 30% of its damage. He got a couple of cool gimmick effects, like being able to bounce mushrooms. I think the stealth changes were subtle, but better than before. His previously powerful stealth & mushrooms were also decimated by ward changes and making it extremely easy for all players to counter stealth & mushrooms.

Bottom line, for about 5 years now, Teemo has held a niche with a very small amount of players, who have been crossing their fingers to see some actual change to make Teemo a viable choice. Today he is countered so easily, with both items and champions. The inherent problem with him is that he is an item dependent champion entirely, so if he falls behind, he is never going to compete properly.

Regardless of all that, I did want to say thank you to the Riot team after hearing the attempt to completely change him. I didn't personally test out these changes, but am just happy to know he is being looked at by the balancing team in a larger way. It is very discouraging to see Teemo as a star icon for Riot's merchandise and comedy, but feel like they don't care about the champion and only do tiny balance changes that don't affect his winrate or # played.

So, thanks for trying at least.

This isn't unique to Teemo, and Teemo is actually pretty strong right now as a toplaner in terms of win-rate. I think to really climb as a toplaner you need to counterpick and have a wide champion pool, so one tricking a champion (like Teemo especially) is a bad idea if you want to climb.

To be honest there aren't really any safe blind pick toplaners I can think of, I don't think a champion with a 51.65% winrate should be getting help to become that though, just my opinion

They were gonna make Teemo better for everyone, more interactive and less toxic and hated.

Teemo mains bitched about the rework saying "It doesn't feel like Teemo" Until Riot canceled it. Now everyone has to suffer because of a few 1 tricks.
